Celebrities usually arrive at rehearsals for “Dancing With The Stars” looking sloppy in t-shirts and sweats. But David Arquette showed up dressed like his idea of a 1930’s leading man – or Fred Astaire. He’s even wearing white buck dancing shoes! If creative apparel is any indication of dancing skill, he’s a major contender.

What kind of people are out there who resent the idea of Chaz Bono competing on “Dancing With The Stars?” We were shocked by the fact that Cher had to defend her adult child against haters on internet websites. Granted, Chaz’s desire to change genders is VERY difficult for most of us to understand- but that doesn’t make him a bad or undesirable person. His gender has nothing to do with his character. As Cher pointed out, it’s a brave thing for him to do – and good for his health. We side with Cher – and we can imagine how difficult it was for her to see her former daughter grow a beard. “Dancing With The Stars” is negotiating with disgraced politician Anthony Weiner to join the dancing celebrities next season. Yes, the same U.S. Representative who resigned after twittering nude photos of himself to numerous women, and lying about it. Unbelievable? Think it over. The show had great ratings when Bristol Palin danced, and Celebrity Apprentice ratings soared when former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich participated on that show. Politicial figures- especially those involved in scandals, pull in lots of viewers.

They’ve only been dating for a few months, but Dancing with the Stars’ Mark Ballas and American Idol contestant Pia Toscano’s night out with Kim Kardashian has fueled a startling rumor. The happy group dined at Katsuya and Mark walked out carrying a bottle of champagne that Kim gave him and Pia was sporting a sparkling ring on her finger. Does that add up to an engagement? You be the judge.

Back then, girls tried to GAIN weight to become desirable and nobody carried adderall in their handbags! Modern Kirstie is still battling her appetite – she looks to have put on a few pounds since “Dancing With The Stars” went off the air.

American Idol and Dancing with the Stars are off the air, and DWTS dancer Mark Ballas and AI contestant Pia Toscano waited in line for brunch at Toast Cafe on Memorial Day just like everyone else. Their undercover romance is now out in the open and they were hugging and kissing at every opportunity. Pia left her boyfriend in New York and she’s planning to stay in LA, so Mark has a new dance partner.
The BEST MAN won last night on Dancing With The Stars. Footballer Hines Ward was one of those celebrities we had never heard of, so we paid scant attention to him at the beginning of the show. Kirstie Alley grabbed all the attention early on – because of her TV fame and her weight, plus the fact that she was a surprisingly graceful dancer. But that charming big lug ballplayer Hines just got better every week and continued smiling under duress and negative comments. At the finals, Kirstie and Max looked very confident that they had it in the bag. But apparently the sports fans outnumbered the chubby girls and Scientologists in the voting audience, and Hines and Kym were declared winners. This time we think they got it right. But, will Kirstie “drown her sorrows” at Taco Bell or House of Pies?
Who doesn’t love to speculate about plastic surgery? Bristol Palin turned up at a recent event looking quite different (photo above right,) but it’s apparent that the well fed “Dancing with the Stars” contestant has also lost weight. (She refused to talk about her new look.) Her face looks much slimmer with better definition. The hair extensions also add a bit of Hollywood glamour. Is it simply weight loss or something more ? – you be the judge.
If anybody ever deserved to be voted off Dancing with the Stars, it was Kendra Wilkinson. When the season started she was the young, sexy and athletic favorite expected to win. But when her looks and fitness didn’t seem help her on the dance floor, she turned into a bratty teenager, implying that winning didn’t matter to her anyway. When judges critiqued her style she didn’t strive to improve, she turned resentful. Judge Carrie Ann suggested that the Playboy model was “afraid of elegance” and Kendra snapped that she “didn’t care.” Other contestants were and are, so earnest in their attempts to win they put Kendra to shame. The “I don’t care” girl with the bad attitude got what she wanted and deserved.
The success of “Dancing With the Stars” and “Celebrity Apprentice” and “Celebrity Rehab” has all the networks scrambling for reality shows involving celebrities in some kind of peril or unfamiliar situation. Last year, CBS announced it was working on a “fish out of water” pilot called “The Name Game” where a celebrity switched lives with an everyday person with the same name. (For example, actor Gary Busey might switch lives with a car mechanic with the same name.) They soon learned it was impossible to find willing participants with the same names. According to Deadline/Hollywood, ABC has ordered episodes of a celebrity edition of their hit Wife Swap (or is it LIFE SWAP?) in which celebrities switch lifestyles for a week. Come to think of it, we wouldn’t mind seeing NeNe Leakes and Star Jones swapping lives for a week.
