Considering that most people today dress way DOWN when they fly, and baggy sweats, baseball caps, and flip flops are the norm, we have to applaud Dita Von Teese for traveling in style. She’s at the airport and immaculately attired as if she were catching a Pan Am flight in the 1960’s. Looking like this opens the door for some interesting experiences.

Dita Von Teese showed off what she describes as the “first 3-D printed dress” in New York. We’re guessing 3-D glasses make it even better. It was designed by Michael Schmidt, who works with metal and unusual textiles – years ago we saved up and bought a Mad Max inspired chain mail top from him. Many rock stars clamor for his one of a kind punkish creations.

For those who love vintage fashion (like we do) – Dita Von Teese has a treat for you. Dita has been collecting vintage clothing for YEARS, and she pulled some of her favorite items from her closet and had them duplicated with all the details in wearable sizes and fabrics. She has a mini collection of one coat and four dresses now available at Decades in Los Angeles. The clothes come in sizes 4 – 16, and cost from $575 to $995. Dita says she dreams of offering a more affordable collection someday on the Home Shopping Network or QVC. Above, she is wearing on of her designs.

Teen heartthrob Harry Styles, 18, of the UK pop band One Direction showed up without the rest of his band members at the Burberry show in London. Dubbed ”the charming one” in his boy band, Harry happens to have a thing for older women. His last girlfriend was 15 years older than he was. We imagine he was secretly thrilled to be seated next to burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese in the front row of the fashion show. Could a fella ask for more?

We always look forward to seeing what Dita Von Teese wears to the Coachella music festival. Shorts and t- shirts are the usual attire of the day. The event takes place in the sometimes windy, sun baked desert and it’s hard on make-up and hair. But Dita manages to look fresh and cool in a cherry print 1930’s-1940’s chiffon jumpsuit with ties at the ankle, and bangle bracelets. Her hair is pulled into a perfect bun and her makeup is flawless. It’s nice to see someone who tries harder…
