LUCY HALE: KATY KEENE IS GONE, BUT HERE COMES ETHEL!

This is by far the sweetest celebrity photo we’ve seen this week. Lucy Hale, who starred in the ill-fated series Katy Keene, was spotted leaving #wagmorepets in Studio City where she just adopted her new puppy Ethel. Ethel has a big brother named Elvis at home waiting to meet her. We were sorry to see the Katy Keene show fail. The comic book Katy Keene was one of VERY few inspiring female main characters in comic books in our childhood. Katy was an ambitious model and aspiring fashion designer living a glamorous life in New York, with lots of boyfriends. Readers were invited to send in designs of their own for Katy to wear and some appeared in the comic, with credits for the amateur designers. She was the woman we wanted to grow up to be. Come to think of it, we did.

Dogs Jacob Elordi Kaia Gerber

KAIA GERBER: AT LEAST SHE STILL HAS MILO

It’s not the same. Seems like just a few weeks ago Kaia Gerber was walking her puppy Milo and stopping for coffee with her actor boyfriend Jacob Elordi, but now she’s starting her day alone. She’s been inseparable from the 6’5” actor since September. They were seen with each other in New York and Los Angeles, and vacationed together in Los Cabos. Australian Elordi currently stars in Euphoria and also costars in Ben Affleck’s upcoming movie Deep Water. Kaia’s parents met and liked Jacob – he seemed a lot less worrisome than her last boyfriend Pete Davidson. In December, Kaia and Jacob were not seen anywhere and she’s been working out and dog walking conspicuously alone. She still has Milo to keep her company.

Women come and go, but Gavin Rossdale, 55, never lets go of the dogs he loves. Ever since he was a young popstar, Rossdale has had at least one dog that he took everywhere. In fact, there are more paparazzi photos of Gavin kissing dogs than kissing women! He’s had some free time between girlfriends, so Gavin acquired a pandemic puppy named Daisy (on leash) – she looks like a toy poodle. Gavin’s senior dog Chewy is following behind as they walk to the park – he’s so well behaved he doesn’t need a leash. Women interested in dating the Bush singer must love dogs too…

JIM PARSONS’ DOGS ARE MORE THAN JUST PETS

Who can resist a guy who REALLY loves his dog? The Big Bang Theory’s Jim Parsons posted these photos he took of his Maltese Stevie napping in several locations in his office, just waiting to be noticed. Interesting that the death of his previous dog led to Parsons leaving The Big Bang Theory after 12 successful seasons. After the 14 year old dog was put to sleep, Jim realized that his life was speeding by and it was time to stop and look around. That’s what pushed him to leave the series and try something else. Not long after, Stevie came along.

LESTER HOLT GOES WITH THE FLOW

For some inexplicable reason we get a kick out of seeing serious suit-and-tie news anchors on their days off in casual clothes. NBC Nightly New host Lester Holt took his adorable pooch for a peaceful walk this week before the Washington drama descended today. Did you know he switched from Republican to Independent in 2016? We didn’t realize he has a lookalike son, Stefan Holt, climbing the NBC corporate ladder working as a news anchor in Chicago.

JUSTIN THEROUX BOUGHT HIS BEST FRIEND A LEATHER JACKET

The more we see Justin Theroux walking around New York with his beloved dog Kuma, the more we realize how much he and Jennifer Aniston have in common. Their split a few years ago was smooth and totally without rancor. Similar to Jen’s divorce from Brad Pitt– not one bad word or accusation, very civilized in spite of difficult circumstances. Interestingly, neither Jen or Justin has been photographed with new romances- only with their dogs. Justin is obviously as in love with his dog as Jennifer is with hers. Kuma is always by Justin’s side and today he’s wearing his black leather jacket. Not many guys buy their dogs clothing!

LILY COLLINS IS HOPELESSLY IN LOVE WITH REDFORD

Emily in Paris star Lily Collins and her boyfriend, filmmaker Charlie McDowell, took a chance and adopted this little pooch last December. They “took a chance” because their relationship was still fairly new, and it would be awful to split up and both want custody of the dog. They named him Redford (there IS a resemblance) and happily they got engaged in September, so little Redford has a happy home and two doting parents.

JENNA JOHNSON: DWTS IS A FAMILY AFFAIR

DWTS pro Jenna Johnson (she’s only 5’2”) gave her dance partner Nev Schulman a special treat – to celebrate being the first couple to get a perfect score of the season on Dancing with the Stars. She brought her adorable little dog to meet Nev and give him a sloppy kiss before practice today. So far Jenna is way ahead of her husband of one year, pro Val Chmerkovskiy and his partner Monica Aldama, in the competition.

FAMKE JANSSEN: A TRUE DOG LOVER

Just a few months ago, X-Men star Famke Janssen was rarely seen in public without her beloved Boston Terrier Licorice. But they haven’t been seen together for awhile, and it is feared that her 16 year old dog has passed away. She must have been devastated. Today she was seen scurrying to lunch with a companion carrying a small dog. Famke couldn’t resist reaching over to cuddle the dog. Maybe the little pup is hers. Famke has always been an animal activist – she and Licorice posed together for a PETA fund raising campaign.
