DONATELLA VERSACE’S LIFE IS BETTER THAN A SOAP OPERA

We felt it was only fair to publish this cute photo of Donatella Versace at JFK because we have published some not–so-hot pics of her in the past. We were wondering why Donatella dropped her brother Gianni’s name from the company. Some bad blood? It’s a convoluted story that many Italians believe is accurate – supposedly, openly gay Gianni wanted an heir and arranged to have Donatella marry model Paul Beck, whom Gianni was rumored to have more than a casual interest in himself. Donatella had a boy and a girl before she divorced Beck in 2000, and Gianni adored the daughter Allegra and took her everywhere. Gianni disapproved of his sister’s cocaine-feuled party lifestyle. When he died, he left 50% of his company to 11 year old Allegra, 20% to Donatella, and 30% to his brother. Donatella went to rehab and has run the company successfully ever since. Very wealthy Allegra, 31, is fighting anorexia and works as a stylist in New York. A VERY interesting family, indeed.

COULD PENELOPE CRUZ LOOK ANY LESS LIKE DONATELLA VERSACE?

Penelope Cruz is in Miami filming her role as Donatella Versace in American Crime Story and we are dumfounded by how little she resembles the designer. Donatella, who took over as head designer when her brother Gianni Versace was murdered, is quite unusual looking and has had a number of cosmetic procedures. We know Penelope can act, but visually she couldn’t be further from reality.

DONATELLA VERSACE IS HOLDING HER OWN – EVEN NEXT TO GIGI HADID!

This HAS to be the best photo of Donatella Versace we’ve ever seen so we HAD to publish it. AWFUL photos of her are all over the place – especially on plastic surgery websites – so it’s nice to see her looking good. She presented her Spring/Summer line at Paris Fashion week and as usual, we’re not crazy about her hyper-sexy designs, but we do like this suit that Gigi Hadid (right) is wearing. And we’re pretty sure her boyfriend Zayn Malik likes it too.

GOLDIE AND KATE CELEBRATE WITH DONATELLA VERSACE

Goldie Hawn and her daughter Kate Hudson showed up during Paris Fashion Week to congratulate Donatella Versace on her new collection, and maybe get some free samples. Kate is wearing a very amusing Versace design with abstract cutouts. Donatella is rocking the extreme bellbottoms and together they make Goldie look just a little dowdy. Goldie is one of those good looking women in Hollywood of a certain age that can’t land a job. She hasn’t made a movie for 13 years and we miss her.

We are constantly amazed by Donatella Versace – she’s one of the biggest designers in the world and walks around looking like THIS. For some reason she chooses to have multiple procedures done to her face and doesn’t know when to stop. Does she not possess a magnifying mirror? Of course, many years of deep tanning and smoking have not helped her to age gracefully. But she should know better.

We hesitate to suggest it, but Donatella Versace might make a great Halloween costume. She’s the scariest looking fashion designer we have ever seen! She presented her collection of women’s wear in Milan this week. Donatella says she owes her looks to “lots of skin cream,“ but she is addicted to deep tanning and admits to being a smoker. She looks like she’s had lots of work done, and her hairdresser told us that most of her hair is extensions. Are all the fashion people around her afraid to give her beauty tips? She’s 59 – do you think she looks older or younger?

Donatella Versace invited Jennifer Lopez to be her guest of honor at the Versace spring/summer 2014 haute couture show in Paris. She also gave Jennifer this white gown to wear to the event. Remember, Jennifer was credited with giving the fashion house a huge boost after she wore that very revealing green silk Versace dress to the Grammys in 2000. So Donatella has a special place in her heart for Jennifer.

GINA GERSHON IS DOING DONATELLA VERSACE A FAVOR

Imagine that! Donatella Versace is not AT ALL happy that Lifetime is producing the TV movie House of Versace and would have NOTHING to do with it. In fact the Versaces made it very difficult by not allowing any access to their fashion archives and refusing to answer any attempt to contact them, according to Merle Ginsberg at The Hollywood Reporter. The story is about Donatella’s rise to power after the murder of her brother Gianni. She struggled with drug abuse, near bankruptcy and rehab, but survived and triumphed. Beautiful actress Gina Gershon (above left) had a huge makeover to play the rather scary Donatella and the designer should be flattered.

January Jones proved she’s capable of a lot more steam that her prim Mad Men character Betty Draper. The 32 year old actress was introduced to Donatella Versace at an event and Donatella was so impressed with her “feminine, classic beauty” that she personally picked her to be the new face of Versace. January kept her retro blonde flip for the nude photos promoting handbags and shoes.
