It turns out this is not the result of photoshop- it’s actually a dress Jessica wore on TV this week. NOT terribly flattering.

HERE’S an interesting pair: While Hollywood was in the throes of the Oscars, Lindsay Lohan and former CSI star Gary Dourdan sat side by side at the Viktor & Rolf show in Paris. It was purely coincidental, but if there’s a lull in the conversation they could always chat about their various drug incidents. And they have something else in common: these are the only two people visible in the audience who are wearing shades.

Michael Evers was doing a photo shoot at Gregory’s posh clothing store in the Venetian Canal Shoppes in Las Vegas when Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon appeared and everything was put on hold. The place was cleared out so Mariah could select apparel and shoes for herself and her husband. When Mariah left, her purchases totaled $25,000 – including the $5000 alligator boots in the photo above that Mariah scooped up for Nick. Michael resumed the photography after Hurricane Carey departed.

Mary-Kate Olsen , who recently split with her boyfriend Nate Lowman, and her sister Ashley (not pictured) are in London to see fashion shows (including Burberry) and they’re getting some business of their own done. The Olsens visited a North London warehouse for some reason and Mary-Kate looked smart and professional in her asymmetrical layered zipper coat and huge buckle bag. She’s a walking advertisement for her own fashion lines.

It’s with an aching heart that we must report the tragic loss of brilliant UK designer Alexander McQueen. Devastated by the death of his mother last week, Mcqueen, only 40, apparently hung himself in his London apartment. He was certainly one of the most prolific and imaginative designers of our lifetime – anyone who loved fashion aspired to own something by McQueen. The pieces we have of his are now collector’s items. In a recent interview Mcqueen said “In my passing, I do not want my label to go forward.” Mountains of flower arrangements, bouquets, and cards are heaped outside his store on Melrose Avenue and a sign says it will not re-open until Monday. It’s the end of an era.

Joe Jonas, looking bookish and low-key, had lunch at the Figaro Cafe on Vermont in Silverlake, and afterward he and a friend went to Y-Que Trading Post, the famous t-shirt store down the street. Joe examined a “Frankie Say Relax” shirt , he looked at “I Hate The Environment” and “Free Roman Polanski” but what he ended up buying was a shirt that said “Never Forget PLUTO” featuring ink that glows in the dark. (Pluto, you will recall, has been downgraded from a planet to a number.)

Oops, we almost forgot to acknowledge Kelis for her outrageous appearance at the First Annual Data Awards. She brought attention to a new award show that “recognizes the importance of DJ’s and the dance community.” She put the Datas on the map. Although we’re not sure about some components of her costume, we love her sense of humor, irreverence and bravery. Kelis is not afraid to take a chance. (And in those hoof/shoes, every step is risky.) She stands out in a string of boring red carpets. Thanks, Kelis for waking us up.

Speaking of weight, Snoop Dogg could gain or lose fifty pounds and no one would ever notice because he wears such gigantic clothes. He generally looks like a huge person with a little head.
