FELICITY HUFFMAN WAS LUCKY TO GET PRISON TIME

Let’s face it, if Felicity Huffman had been given the probation she was hoping (and begging) for – her career would have been over. The act of paying to have her daughter’s SAT scores falsely raised made Felicity HATED by every person who ever studied like crazy to get college acceptable grades, or who struggled to pay for tuition and expenses. At least she owned up to her illicit act and apologized. But if she had NOT gotten at least SOME jail time, SO many people would resent her white privilege that she would be dead meat in Hollywood. Getting two weeks in women’s prison means she might be able to work again someday…

OTHERHOOD – SUBURBAN MOMS TAKE MANHATTAN

If you still reminisce about Sex & the City, you just might like the new Netflix movie, Otherhood, starring Patricia Arquette, Angela Bassett, and Felicity Huffman. The director and co-writer Cindy Chupack also wrote Sex & the City, and we hear there are favorable comparisons. The three stars play longtime friends worried about their adult sons who all live in Manhattan. They decide to leave the suburbs together and drive to New York to pay their sons a surprise visit (what can go wrong?) – resulting in an abundance of awkward and funny repercussions.

FELICITY HUFFMAN HAS “THE LOOK”

Felicity Huffman is a woman who knows how to dress when she’s going to court. Simple, modest, nothing flashy – no designer labels – grey dress, sensible shoes. Even more important, she has the right look on her minimally made up face. She’s giving no thought to the paparazzi. It’s apparent she takes the situation VERY SERIOUSLY and is genuinely sorry for the crime she committed. Today she pled guilty for taking part in the college admissions bribery scheme in front of a Boston judge, and looks ready to accept her punishment.

WILLIAM H MACY DODGED A BULLET

Can you IMAGINE what’s been going on at the home of Shameless star William H Macy and his wife Felicity Huffman since the college admission cheating scandal broke? For unknown reasons, William was not charged and he’s probably been waiting for the other shoe to fall. So far Felicity has pled guilty and could still serve up to 10 months in prison, but most likely less. Since prosecutors consider the amount of money involved in the crime, Felicity’s $15,000 is significantly less than Lori Loughlin’s $500,000, so things are looking grim for Loughlin. Macy celebrated his freedom by stocking up on plants and potting soil at his local nursery.

FELICITY HUFFMAN: WHAT ARE YOU TEACHING YOUR KIDS?

It was a HUGE disappointment to learn that Felicity Huffman and William H Macy are involved in the college admissions cheating scheme because they always seemed like such an earnest couple. We can understand wealthy parents making large contributions to a college to get their child enrolled, But CHEATING on SAT tests is unforgivable! That is BY FAR the worst part of this bribery scandal. Hardworking non-wealthy students prepare and study endlessly for these challenging tests. WHAT are parents who BUY high test scores teaching their kids? Are these SAT cheating kids even likely to earn the grades to graduate? BUYING SAT scores is no substitute for tutoring and good upbringing.

WE TOLD YOU SO: TERI HATCHER IS LEAVING DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES

There were many doubters when we wrote back on Feb 2, 2010, that Teri Hatcher’s character was going to be written off “Desperate Housewives.” Teri even denied it because SHE didn’t know it was going to happen. The show’s creator Marc Cherry fired Nicollette Sheridan without a backward glance, and he’s the one behind Teri’s departure. We told you that Marc didn’t think some of his actors were as “grateful” as they should be, and now we know who he was probably referring to. We surmise that when it became evident that Teri was leaving, Felicity Huffman packed her bags in a hurry.

People on the street in New York probably wouldn’t realize these two were celebrities if they didn’t see the paparazzi running backwards in front of them. William H Macy (“The Cooler”) and his wife of 12 years Felicity Huffman (“Desperate Housewives“) seem quite oblivious, walking together on Madison Avenue. Macy took over his role when Jeremy Piven abruptly left the play “Speed-The-Plow” on Broadway.
