JOHNNY DEPP: AWARDS YES – JOBS NO!

Despite being accurately described as a “wife beater,” Johnny Depp,58, got an honorary Outstanding Contribution award at the San Sebastian Film Festival this week. Before the ceremony Johnny, who’s been griping that Hollywood blackballed him, ominously declared “Nobody is safe from cancel culture!” Naturally, women’s domestic abuse charities complained loudly that the film honor is disrespectful of abuse survivors. Film Festival members insisted that Johnny was NOT ARRESTED OR CONVICTED of violence against women and pointed out that the award reflects Depp’s cinematic achievements- not his personal life. Ironically, later this month Johnny is scheduled to receive another honorary award in the Czech Republic.

DE NIRO’S SEXY WIFE HAS EYES POPPING AT THE FILM FESTIVAL

Robert De Niro, Grace Hightower and Harvey Keitel attend the 11th Annual Chanel Tribeca Film Festival Artists Dinner at Balthazar restaurant in NYC

Harvey Keitel seems to be talking to his pal Robert De Niro, but we’re betting his eyes are glued to Grace Hightower’s excessive cleavage. The threesome were all at the exclusive Chanel sponsored Tribeca Film Festival dinner in NYC. DeNiro met Grace in 1987 when she was working at the Mr Chow restaurant in London. They married in 1997 and have two children. Grace considers herself to be an actress and singer, but is more active in New York charity work than anything else. She seems to be the lively one in this marriage.

PAMELA ANDERSON LIVENS UP ANY FILM FESTIVAL

Pamela Anderson looks very cute in this photo taken at a press conference for the Taormina Film Festival in Italy. No hair extensions and a little cotton dress is a refreshing change from her usual glammed up look. Of course it IS the glamour that gets her invited to these events (and handsomely paid, we presume.) This year’s festival is honoring the history of women in cinema. Apparently the Italians have not forgotten Pam’s appearance in “Barb Wire” and “Borat.

SOCCER TRUMPED SOPHIA LOREN AT FILM FESTIVAL IN ITALY

#sophialoren #janetcharlton

Italians are so soccer crazy that games interfered with the Taormina Film Festival Awards. When the Italian team made it into the European championship semifinals, the screenings and ceremonies had to be shifted around at the last minute. All eyes were on the games. Guest of Honor Sophia Loren received an award for her amazing 60 year film career and her prize ceremony was reduced in length to only ten minutes – the duration of halftime in the soccer game! She graciously confessed that SHE was as caught up in the game as everyone else.
