Fran Drescher has been bitten by the political bug. Fran is getting kudos from practically all of Hollywood for negotiating a record breaking billion dollar plus deal as the SAG-AFTRA union president, and now she’s aspiring to even bigger things – maybe as the Governor of California! Fran is a fan of California’s current governor Gavin Newsom, but he’s termed out in 2027 and she would LOVE to be his replacement. She’s riding high since negotiating the end of the Hollywood strike and now she’s being encouraged to run for governor. My source says that although Fran leans more Democratic, she’s a free thinker who was against vaccine mandates so she appeals to both the liberals and conservatives. She’s got my vote…

Fran Drescher SAG-AFTRA Strike

FRAN DRESCHER FEELS HOODWINKED BY HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS

It’s war! Fran Drescher is mad at Barbie and a few others too. Fran, the president of SAG/AFTRA, (the actors’ union that just went on strike) feels they were duped by the studios to grant a two week extension so that the summer blockbusters, including Barbie, Tom Cruise’s latest Mission Impossible, and Oppenheimer, would all be able to get some of their red carpet premieres and press junkets in. According to our source, Fran now feels the studios DELIBERATELY misled her and the union about their willingness to negotiate. She feels the whole thing was a ruse so the studios would be able to promote their biggest summer movies BEFORE the strike. This has Fran and some of her fellow union board members ALL riled up and it’s motivating them to stand FIRM in the strike.

Fran Drescher Make up President SAG-AFTRA Strike

FRAN DRESCHER MEANS BUSINESS

HERE’S a first: Fran Drescher without makeup! According to a source, Fran’s makeup free appearance yesterday to announce the SAG/AFTRA strike was deliberate. Fran, who is the president of the actor’s union, took a lot of flak when she was photographed last weekend at the Dolce & Gabbana fashion show hanging out with Kim Kardashian. Some union members complained that as the president of the union, she should have been hard at work at contract negotiations and not halfway around the world at a fashion show. Fran, who rarely leaves the house without make-up, deliberately appeared at today’s press press conference au naturel with messy hair and bags under her eyes to give the appearance that she’s been hard at work. Fran, who is usually in designer outfits, completed the serious at work look with a T-shirt and an unflattering hoodie. This was no slip up, she wanted to silence her critics. (we love her either way)

FRAN DRESCHER CAN’T RESIST A LITTLE GOSSIP

She’s the definition of having NO filter and SAG-AFTRA President Fran Drescher didn’t disappoint on the red carpet at the SAG Awards. Fran was asked by a reporter from People Magazine if any A-list stars have reached out to her with requests, now that she’s in charge of the powerful actors union. Without missing a beat, chatty Fran blurted out, “Barbra Streisand called and asked me “Why aren’t I covered on [husband] Jim [Brolin]’s SAG healthcare anymore?” Fans will remember Fran’s character on The Nanny was OBSESSED with Barbra, and the show even devoted an episode to her. No word yet on how Barbra will react to Fran’s revelation.

Fran “The Nanny” Drescher is looking adorable at the Tribeca Film Festival and she’s happy to be working again. She’s promoting her movie Safe Spaces – she plays Justin Long’s Jewish mother and he plays an NYU professor having MeToo era problems at work. Fran ALSO has a new comedy for NBC called Uninsured in which a young couple find themselves having to guide the husbands bigspender parents through a financial crisis. Fran has become quite a women’s health activist since she survived cancer. Married twice, Fran is now single, but admits she does some “online dating…”

FRAN DRESCHER NEVER LACKS FOR COMPANY

Fran Drescher looks quite happy, walking out of Barneys in Beverly Hills with a new man. The Nanny star was married to Shiva Ayyadurai, who describes himself as a scientist/entrepreneur, for two years before splitting in September. Her husband claimed to be the inventor of email, a claim that was contested by some, among them the Gawker site. Shiva sued Gawker, but it was AFTER Hulk Hogan won his suit against the site and bankrupted them, so it made no sense. Anyway, Fran is on the prowl again and seems to be doing all right.

The massively educated scientist Shiva Ayyadural and our little Fran tied the knot this weekend after a year of togetherness. Fran divorced her first husband Peter Jacobson in 1999 after he declared he was gay, but they remain best friends. Fran, 56, learns something new every day from her brainy husband, and Shiva, 50, says she makes him laugh every day. Nice combination. Fran posted this photo to announce the news.

FRAN DRESCHER’S GAY HUSBAND MADE HER A STAR

Back in the 90’s, Fran Drescher introduced us to her smart and delightful husband, writer Peter Marc Jacobson, and we wondered if she was the only one who didn’t know he was gay. They divorced in 1999 and Fran says that’s when he came out to her. They met in high school and were married for 21 years before Peter revealed his secret. Fran is now openly discussing the relationship and says they are still the best of friends and confidants. (They created “The Nanny” together) We happen to think having a clever gay husband sounds like a very modern and fun relationship – as long as he has good health insurance. EVERYBODY needs that.

She looks a lot more casual than she did when she was starring on “The Nanny” but Fran Drescher still knows how to have a good time. She turned up in Malibu, freshly shampooed, without makeup and dressed in wooly boots while she walked her dog in the company of a male companion. And she does have a sense of humor about herself.
