Just when we thought we’d seen more than enough of The Newlywed Game to last a lifetime, we learned that the show is looking for gay celebrity couples to appear on the series! Now THAT sounds like fun! The Newlywed Game, hosted by Carnie Wilson, is on the Game Show Network. They’re taping episodes with celebrity couples and are actively pursing GAY celebrity couples. So far Ellen and Portia have turned them down, but Star Trek’s George Takei and his husband Brad Altman agreed to play the game.

Why Elijah Wood is continuously accused of being gay is a mystery, but he doesn’t gripe about it – or threaten to sue like Tom Cruise. He finds it amusing, and so do we, since he’s been with his girlfriend Pamela Racine for YEARS now. She’s the drummer for the punk band Gogol Bordello and she’s got a few inches on the diminutive “Lord of the Rings” star. Above, they’re enjoying a walk in the New York summer weather.

THE ADVOCATE WASN’T THRILLED BY BRUNO, BUT WE WERE

It was quite a surprise to see that The Advocate gave a better review to “I Love You Beth Cooper” than it gave to “Bruno.” Does that mean the gay community doesn’t embrace “Bruno?” It would be a shame because “Bruno” IS the funniest scream-out-loud movie since “Borat.” Sacha Baron Cohen makes fun of EVERYONE and reactions to his outrageous character are priceless. We are still amazed that those Deliverance-type hunters even KNEW what “Sex & The City” was. Sacha is a brave man.

Sacha Baron Cohen walked INTO the Letterman show in New York looking like his normal dashing self, but he walked OUT afterward in full “Bruno” drag. Apparently he gave himself a radical “gay” makeover in the dressing room. This is the first time we’ve seen him NOT dressed like Bruno in quite awhile. It must be a relief for his fiance Isla Fisher. (We can hardly WAIT to see the movie.)

Christopher wrote the fascinating book “Life With My Sister Madonna” and they’ve been on the outs ever since. Chris is friendly with South Beach’s most popular drag queen, Elaine Lancaster and she threw the gay event called “Asseteria” at the Aerobar there, where Chris was the celebrity guest.

PRINCE WON'T VOTE AGAINST GAY RIGHTS

There’s no need for Prince to backtrack on his recent comments to the New Yorker that implied he was against gay marriage. It seems that in recent years, Prince has become a fervent Jehovah’s Witness (like Michael Jackson used to be.) Consequently his views on social issues have become quite conservative, in contrast to his own highly liberated history. Personal opinions notwithstanding, the upside of this religious dilemma is the fact that Jehovah’s Witnesses DON’T VOTE! Prince and his ilk want nothing to do with politics and they remain neutral. That’s what the bible tells them to do. So in their own way, they separate church and state, and that’s fine with us.

BRUNO MIXES IT UP WITH PROP 8 DEMONSTRATORS

Makes sense that Sacha Baron Cohen would show up for a YES on proposition 8 rally downtown at the LA courthouse. (This is the unpopular LA proposition AGAINST gay marriage.) NO on 8 supporters were hotly demonstrating also. Cohen’s current movie character is Bruno the gay Austrian journalist, so it was the ideal event for him. Naturally Bruno (dressed like a yuppie) was on the WRONG side, and got everyone on both sides of the proposition agitated and confused. When TV cameras recognized him, Bruno made a run for it with his signs and drove off in a hurry.

George Michael got caught fiddling around in another mensroom in London Friday afternoon. According to the News of the World, George was seen loitering around a subway bathroom that’s notorious for gay pick-ups. THAT’S why it has a “no loitering” sign. The bathroom attendant observed George’s “suspicious” behavior and called the cops. George was STILL there when cops arrived and they found weed and crack in his pocket and hauled him off to the police station. In the past few years since his Beverly Hills park “incident,” he’s been caught several times in London parks. His long time partner Kenny Goss seems very forgiving.

None of her current girlfriends fill the bill, so Jackie has been on the lookout for a sizzling new one. She zeroed in on a gorgeous tattooed videomaker named Lisa Alvarez. Lisa didn’t seem terribly interested, so Jackie invited her to her birthday party Saturday at Club 11, and insisted on posing for photos with her. (above) Jackie was annoyed because Lisa brought a date to the party, but she’s not giving up and continues to pursue Lisa. Bravo might like that.

But no, the pair turned up at The Booby Trap in Silverlake last night. When they walked in our spy noticed that Jackie seemed “dazed” and “out of it.” (Sedated, perhaps?) They were having a good time until an attractive Latina walked in and Jackie run up and hugged her. The two walked off to the bar and started downing tequila shots, ignoring Elizabeth. “It was like an episode of “The L Word.” Elizabeth tried in vain to get Jackie’s attention. She waited patiently and then tried to pull her away from the bar but Jackie resisted. Jackie and the girl exchanged phone numbers. Elizabeth pulled Jackie aside, gave her a few choice words, and insisted they leave. The Latina giggled as Jackie was led outside by her girlfriend.
