STEPHEN FRY’S ENGAGEMENT : IS 30 YEAR AGE DIFFERENCE NO BIG THING?

It was just revealed that British actor Stephen Fry, 57, plans to marry his 27 year old boyfriend Elliott Spencer. He was bombarded by congratulations and happy messages of approval, and expressed some surprise at the response. That got us thinking- would a straight man marrying a WOMAN thirty years younger be as celebrated? Or would he be criticized? Imagine if a famous WOMAN announced that she was marrying a 30 years younger man! She would be LAMBASTED! Is a big age difference more acceptable for gays than straights? WHY? What do YOU think?

Welsh actor Luke Evans, 35, has been openly gay since long before his career took off in “The Hobbit“ movies and “Dracula Untold.” He and his hunky boyfriend, Spanish actor/model Jon Kortajarena, 29, have been together for the past year. You might remember Jon as the handsome Carlos in Tom Ford’s movie “A Single Man.” Luke and Jon are pictured above, having a smoke on their way to lunch in Manhattan.

TYLER PERRY: GAY OR NOT GAY?

Tyler Perry, 45, broke some kind of record this week: First he supposedly announced that he was gay, to no one’s surprise. Just a few days later he denied that he ever made such a confession and instead announced that he has a pregnant girlfriend! This is a confusing chain of events. We always assumed the multi-millionaire Madea creator (and confirmed bachelor) was probably gay and we bet his friend Oprah did too. No big deal. What a surprise when Perry abruptly admitted he is about to become a father with his on again off again Ethiopian model girlfriend Gelila Bekele, that nobody seemed to know about. Good news, but perplexing.

Gay Rumors Scientology Tom Cruise

FOR THE LAST TIME, TOM CRUISE IS NOT GAY!

July is a slow month for gossip, and The National Enquirer knows that stories implying that Tom Cruise is gay sell lots of magazines, so they revisit the subject as often as possible. This time around they’re grasping at straws by quoting The New York Times. The newspaper reviewed a book called “The Actress” and surmised that a main character – a closeted gay actor – was based on Tom Cruise. Naturally, they assume that Tom is upset over the whole thing. Indeed, Tom has always taken legal action against gay accusations and won. The fact is HE IS NOT GAY! (Not that there’s anything wrong with that.) Yes, he’s a Scientologist and he’s had three unsuccessful marriages, but there has never been a scrap of genuine evidence that he is gay. He’s a decent guy, a little uncomfortable with women, and sometimes socially awkward, but he is straight. Isn’t picking on him for being a Scientologist ENOUGH?

NO MORE FRILLY DRESSES FOR ELLEN PAGE!

Ellen said that coming out of the closet made every aspect of her life better – including apparently her wardrobe! Now she can wear a suit and tie instead of a tight little black dress and heels and be comfortable. We liked Ellen’s honesty in her comments about her X-Men director Bryan Singer’s sexual allegations. She said the lawsuit was disturbing because she liked her director, BUT “Whatever comes of it- there IS a systemic issue of people in power manipulating and abusing young people.” She KNOWS this is a common Hollywood practice for men in high positions.

MALAYSIAN MYSTERY: THE TWO MEN WITH FORGED PASSPORTS WERE NOT TERRORISTS – THEY WERE HOMOSEXUAL!

Remember the two young Iranian men who traveled with forged passports on the missing Malaysian flight? The falsified passports set off alarms of terrorism. Interpol released photos of the men. The two guys were heavily investigated to determine if they had any ties to terrorism. A great deal of information was gathered about the two mystery men and it was established that the Iranian men were friends. The fact that they were seeking asylum in Europe BECAUSE THEY WERE GAY was never mentioned. Iran routinely executes homosexuals and is considered the most homophobic of the Islamic countries. David Bar Katz Gay National Enquirer Philip Seymour Hoffman Secret Lover

OMIGOSH! THE ENQUIRER CLAIMS PHILIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN WAS A CLOSET GAY

The Enquirer’s sensational claim that Philip Seymour Hoffman was having a gay relationship with his best friend and co-writer David Bar Katz has the showbiz world in a turmoil. From what we’ve heard so far, the magazine claims to have an interview with Katz in which he admits that Hoffman was torn by his gay impulses, and his sexual ambivalence and the drug use destroyed his relationship with the mother of his children. Now it makes sense that if Katz WAS Hoffman’s secret lover, he knows he won’t inherit anything, so he might as well sell his story. But now Katz says he NEVER told the Enquirer he had a relationship with Hoffman! What’s going on here? The Enquirer doesn’t take chances on lawsuits unless they have plenty of proof. Their lawyers okay every word in the magazine. Has the Enquirer crossed the line? This will be a VERY interesting story as it develops.

UPDATE: The Enquirer has admitted they were duped by someone falsely identifying himself as David Bar Katz and apologized for the inaccurate story. We wonder if the fake Katz collected a bunch of money.

It’s funny how fellow Scientologist Kirstie Alley is the only one alive who thinks John Travolta is not gay. Or SAYS she thinks that. When all those masseurs and airline personell started crawling out of the woodwork blabbing about their romantic liaisons with John, Kirstie was quick to call them all liars. She ought to know – Kirstie had a crush on John in 1989 and while promoting her new TV Land series (above) recently gushed to Howard Stern that he was “the greatest love of her life” although she resisted having an affair because she was married. Keep in mind, Scientologists are encouraged to LIE or do anything necessary to protect members of the church. If only Leah Remini would comment on this.

Gay Janet Charlton Prison Break Wentworth Miller

WENTWORTH MILLER CAME OUT AS A HERO

We’ve always had a crush on “Prison Break” star Wentworth Miller and it never mattered that he was gay. We’re not sure if it was common knowledge, but it wasn’t important. In 2007 we happened to bump into Wentworth at the Arclight Theater in Hollywood. We were giddy with excitement and remember that he looked very clean and smelled delicious. He was also very friendly and allowed Belissa Cohen to take the photo above. Six years later, the elegant and intelligent Wentworth picked the right time to come out – he was invited to appear at a Russian film festival and declined due to Russia’s anti-gay legislation.
Part of his letter was printed in The Advocate:
“As someone who has enjoyed visiting Russia in the past and can also claim a degree of Russian ancestry, it would make me happy to say yes,” Miller wrote in the letter, posted on GLAAD’s website. “However, as a gay man, I must decline.”
You’ve gotta love him.

MICHELLE RODRIGUEZ DOESN’T WANT TO BE TYPECAST AS “THE TOUGH GIRL” ANY MORE

Just when you think you have Michelle Rodriguez figured out, she does a u-turn! The “Fast and Furious” star has been typecast playing tough women and tomboys in movies since she debuted in “Girlfight” in 2000. She played the courageous helicopter pilot in “Avatar.” Straight women and gay women alike admire her spunk and strong personality – not to mention her good looks. Michelle always avoided the gay question AND the bi-sexual question, although she seemed to have relationships with women. We’re thinking she must have gotten a new manager or someone who reminded her that she is now 35 and her acting years are numbered so she should seek other types of roles. Michelle has started dressing up more and wearing more makeup. She was noticed smoking with now-single Rob Pattinson at the Chateau Marmont, and hanging with him at a house party. One more step in the feminization of Michelle Rodriguez. We like her both ways.
