GEORGE HAMILTON GETS CONFIDENCE FROM HIS TAN

Whoa. We had to stop for a second look at this photo of George Hamilton signing autographs outside Craig’s restaurant. It’s amazing that a few men still hold on to that “too tan” look so popular in the 1970’s, despite medical warnings. George says he started tanning because women were more attracted to him with darker skin.(Tanorexic?) We hear he still uses a “sun reflector” today. Interesting that he hosted at least one of Donald Trump’s Miss Universe pageants – surely they exchanged tanning tips. George says Donald probably uses a spray-on bronzer. Maybe George will see this photo and decide to cut back…

GEORGE HAMILTON: NOT AS TAN AS HE USED TO BE

The movie “Where the Boys Are” about college students on spring break in Florida, is what made George Hamilton famous – that and his perpetual tan. (When he couldn’t get to a beach or pool, he stuck his head out the window and used a sun reflector.) George seemed to enjoy seeing his name in gossip columns and he was known for escorting glamorous older women like Elizabeth Taylor and Jeanne Moreau to black tie events. A few year ago it was rumored that he had skin cancer removed from his face, but he swears it was exaggerated – he had “pre-cancerous lesions” removed. He’s probably refined his tanning methods since then…

GEORGE HAMILTON AND ALANA STEWART: HOLLYWOOD’S MOST SUCCESSFUL DIVORCE

They were divorced over 40 years ago, but George Hamilton and Alana Stewart are still the best of friends. (Above, at Craig’s for dinner) Two years ago they had their own reality show, Stewarts & Hamiltons, on E!, and for maybe the first time all their kids had paying jobs (Kimberly Stewart, Sean Stewart, Ashley Hamilton etc) Too bad, they couldn’t “keep up with the Kardashians” on the same network, and ratings were disappointing – the show was canceled after 8 episodes.

SUZANNE SOMERS HAS THE LAST LAUGH

The Carousel of Hope Ball in Beverly Hills brings out Hollywood celebrities from past generations – many of whom we haven’t seen for awhile. The event is appealing because the red carpet photo area features especially complex and flattering lighting so nobody looks bad! George Hamilton and his ex-wife Alana Stewart (Farrah Fawcett’s best friend) are still pals although they’re no longer romantically involved. Their E! reality series “Stewarts & Hamiltons” was canceled last year after 8 episodes. It’s nice to see Raquel Welch looking flirtatious – her wig business is thriving and she has a movie coming out called “How to be a Latin Lover.” Businesswoman Suzanne Somers is still selling ThighMasters, plus an endless array of books and products on TV. She’s probably the wealthiest of all.

Some things never change. The Tan Man George Hamilton and his ex-wife Alana Stewart turned up at the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival where George was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award. (We did love him in “Where The Boys Are.”) What’s REALLY remarkable is how LITTLE George and Alana have changed since they were married in the early 70’s. They both look amazing.

GEORGE HAMILTON FINALLY THREW AWAY HIS SUN REFLECTOR

George Hamilton, 72, is on the cover of The National Enquirer because he is “battling skin cancer” but in fact, he’s had skin cancer for at least ten years. He’s had lesions removed through years and has only recently cut back on his sun exposure and switched to spray tans. Tanning addict George was one of the last people to give up using sun reflectors for his face! His cancer treatments are over and now he’s in New York rehearsing for a 9 month tour of the musical “La Cage Au Folles.” Luckily, he also has a 38 year old girlfriend, Barbara Sturm, who happens to be a doctor

According to our spy, Alana is a steady customer at Diane Von Furstenberg’s store on Melrose. When she plans to shop there, she calls ahead and they reserve her favorite dressing room and – get this- they prepare to play her OTHER ex-husband, Rod Stewart’s, old hits. GEORGE IS BRINGING THREE GENERATIONS OF HAMILTONS TO TV LAND

George Hamilton has created a reality show and it sounds a lot like “Two and a Half Men.” George is developing a “docusoap” for TV Land with the same producers who do “Keeping up with the Kardashians.” The show will document the lives of George, 70, and his older son Ashley, 35, (a standup comic) – they are perpetual bachelors in no hurry to grow up. Until, that is, George’s 10 year old son George Thomas (from George’s relationship with Kimberly Blackford) moves to LA to live with them. Will they take him to Mr Chow? Who will pick up the check? Insiders tell us that George and Ashley are living together because they’re both hurting for money, so this all makes sense.
