JACK ANTONOFF : IT’S A WHOLE NEW WORLD

Who is Jack Antonoff? He’s a 38 year old successful musician, songwriter, and record producer (Taylor Swift, to name only one) who has won seven Grammys, and has an interesting love life. From 2012 to 2017, Lena Dunham, 36, was his girlfriend. Everybody thought they were a perfect match. Equally brainy and successful, Lena created and starred on the popular HBO series Girls. It lasted for six seasons – just about as long as her romance with Jack. Surprise! Jack has moved on and he just got engaged to young and beautiful Margaret Qualley, 27, daughter of model/actress Andie MacDowell.You may have seen Margaret in the Netflix miniseries Maid. Obviously, Jack doesn’t have a “type”- the two women are nothing alike. (Don’t feel bad, Lena moved on also, and just got married…)

LENA DUNHAM IS IN AN L.A. KINDA MOOD

Writer/director Lena Dunham wished herself a happy 34th birthday on Instagram, featuring this uncharacteristic photo of herself coyly sunbathing by the pool. Girls creator Lena has been social isolating with her roommate in Los Angeles (we’re guessing Silver Lake.) The New York hipster split with her music producer boyfriend Jack Antonoff in 2017, and has an apartment in the village, but has been staying in LA. Seems like outspoken Lena is always apologizing for her “insensitive” comments, but she’s often right on the money. Not so sure about those tattoos though…

ALLISON WILLIAMS IS OUT TO SCARE YOU AGAIN

Girls costar Allison Williams was a revelation in Get Out – she played the same old “supportive girlfriend of the leading male character” role so beautifully that she made the leading man look lame. Leave it to Netflix to give her the leading part she so deserves. Of course Perfection IS another scary movie – she calls it a “psychological thriller,” but she is such an easy actress to identify with that you can really get involved. So far, Allison Williams and Adam Driver are the breakout stars of Girls.

Bad Fashion Girls Lena Dunham

LENA DUNHAM IS SABOTAGING HERSELF

THIS is how Lena Dunham looks when she’s walking around NYC??? Granted, the last year or so has been challenging for the Girls creator. Lena had a total hysterectomy last year and she and her boyfriend of five years, musician Jack Antonoff, parted company in December. She admitted she was broken-hearted after the split and it couldn’t have helped when he was linked with his collaborator Lorde early this year, and recently, model Carlotta Kohl. It’s time for Lena to pull herself together and MAKE AN EFFORT. This photo makes her look like somebody’s grandmother and she’s only 31!

Girls Grand Opening Lena Dunham LocoL

LENA DUNHAM SPENT MLK DAY AT LOCOL IN WATTS

MLK Monday was the ideal date for the grand opening of the new LA restaurant LocoL, situated in Watts. Celebrity Chef Roy Choi did the area a favor by prettying up the formerly dismal neighborhood. And the locals responded with enthusiasm – a line formed around the block for the new place, which offers healthy fast food with fresh ingredients. It’s a hybrid of Mexican, American, and Asian food. And it’s AFFORDABLE! Healthy, tasty food priced from $1.00 to $6.00. Watts doesn’t get many trendy establishments so this is a big deal. A few Hollywood types showed up – Lena Dunham brought some friends, and Jon Favreau was spotted somewhere in the crowd.

LENA DUNHAM DOESN’T EXPECT TO BE MISTAKEN FOR CINDY CRAWFORD

You have to admit that Lena Dunham has a sense of humor about herself. Her CINDY CRAWFORD sweatshirt is good for an ironic laugh, especially because of who happens to be wearing it. Lena is often teased for showing way too much of her not-so-perfect body, and she has no qualms about nudity. She dismisses her numerous online haters with “People have been picking on me all my life.” Her boyfriend Jack Antonoff seems to have no complaints.

LENA DUNHAM DONS A BIKINI FOR CHARITY

We thought Lena Dunham was brave when she wore that too-tight jogging outfit for “Girls,” but she topped herself when she turned up on the Hamptons beach in this teeny bikini. And her “cover-up” really doesn’t. She nonchalantly did several interviews on the sand. Let’s face it, more people look like Lena in a bikini than Jessica Alba. And Lena was there for a good reason – the Paddle for Pink charity event raising money for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. And that’s what really counts.

You’ve gotta give Lena Dunham credit for having a lot of nerve – she dressed up in this too-tight jogging outfit for a scene for “Girls.” Not many actresses would display their flesh in such an unflattering manner. But Lena insists she has a positive body image no matter what. Looks like she’s not kidding.

OMIGOSH! LENA DUNHAM IS WRITING ARCHIE COMICS!

Who would have guessed that we have something in common with “Girls” creator Lena Dunham? It turns out we were both huge fans of Archie comics when we were kids and we collected and saved them. Lena talked about it in an interview, and the Archie Comics company was delighted and sent her a big box of comics. A few weeks later Lena approached the Archie CEO and pitched some story lines she’d like to write for them. They loved her ideas and she’ll be writing Archie and the gang’s adventures in four upcoming issues! Can you IMAGINE?

Fashion Girls Golden Globes Lena Dunham

LENA DUNHAM: WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?

We’re big fans of Lena Dunham’s talent, but NOT her fashion sense at this year’s Globes. Who on earth talked her into wearing this Zac Posen classic bombshell dress when she has none of the bombshell necessities? Sofia Vergara would do justice to this fishtail gown, but Lena looks ridiculous. The “Girls” creator should have chosen a funkier downtown look – something hipper, younger, and less pretentious.
