TAYLOR MOMSEN WASN’T KIDDING WHEN SHE QUIT ACTING TO BECOME A ROCK STAR

Remember back in 2010 when everyone gasped because teenager Taylor Momsen quit her hit series Gossip Girl to become a rock star? Observers predicted she would live to regret her decision – but in fact, she hasn’t! Singer/songwriter Taylor is STILL performing with her band The Pretty Reckless, that she put together in 2009. Taylor, now 24, says she doesn’t miss acting at all, and the band has released 3 albums with enough success to keep them touring almost nonstop. Taylor’s band is particularly popular in Europe and made enough money to invest in a fancy new tour bus.

Taylor Momsen, 21, meant it when she quit “Gossip Girl” in 2012 and said she wanted to perform with her band “Pretty Reckless” full time. She’s been touring nonstop ever since (her band even opened for Marilyn Manson) and hasn’t been tempted to return to acting. Above, she’s arriving at the Wiltern Theater for her concert and we have a rare glimpse of her with no makeup on.

The cast of Gossip Girl is getting sentimental since they all went back to work on their 6th and final season of the show. The actors are excited about moving on to new projects, but somewhat sad about leaving their friends on the show. Blake Lively and Penn Badgley (above) got romantic off screen during the course of the series and ended up dating for three years until 2010. Both have moved on to movies and new partners. Blake is happily living with Ryan Reynolds and Penn was last seen with Zoe Kravitz.

MADONNA GETS HER INSPIRATION FROM “GOSSIP GIRL?”

An observant friend of ours who happens to be obsessed with all things Madonna, was amused when Madonna famously said “It feels reductive” to describe the similarities between Madonna’s “Express Yourself“ song and Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way.” She used this rather obscure word in an ABC interview with Cynthia McFadden last January. Cynthia responded “Is that good?” Madonna coyly told the journalist to “look it up.” Our Madonna fan was surprised to find that that same word had been used on an episode of “Gossip Girl“ that aired in October 17, 2011 – three months before Madonna’s interview aired. (We don’t know what date she taped the interview) Blake Lively’s character Serena used the word in a dismissive manner to a coworker. Our Madonna fan surmised that although she CLAIMS she never watches TV, Madonna was probably watching Gossip Girl with Lourdes and liked the sound of that word…

We never paid a whole lot of attention to Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick, 25, who plays the malevolent Chuck Bass on the teen drama. But the UK actor became a whole lot more interesting when we saw this fashion photo from Milan. Westwick is the face of German designer Philipp Plein’s men’s collection and he looks quite different with this haircut, thin mustache, and elegant suit. Definitely worthy of a second look.

Granted, he is dressed by expert stylists, but wouldn’t it be nice if guys wanted to emulate him the way female viewers want the same dresses worn on the show. If we never see another man in a baseball cap or hoodie, or ugly sneakers, we could live happily ever after…

Now we KNOW this is a serious romance between Blake Lively and her Green Lantern costar Ryan Reynolds. Blake is walking Ryan’s dog, along with her own. Ryan is crazy about his Golden Retriever, Baxter, and wouldn’t trust him to just anybody. Blake was seen walking on the Gossip Girl set with Baxter and her own tiny Maltipoo Penny, and she was loving up both of them.

Number one suspect for the smooch mark is her “Green Lantern” costar Ryan Reynolds, with whom she has been keeping steady company.
