IS JAMIE FOXX’S DAUGHTER TELLING THE TRUTH?

Jamie Foxx’s daughter Corinne just released a statement that her father has been out of the hospital for weeks recuperating, but it’s what she DIDN’T say that has insiders questioning the validity of her claims. Jamie suffered a mysterious “medical emergency” and he couldn’t complete filming the movie Back in Action. Producers quickly replaced him with a body double, assuming he would NOT return to work. Apparently THEY knew something WE don’t. Although Jamie‘s daughter says Jamie is OUT of the hospital, she DIDN’T say he was recuperating at home, so now some friends fear he’s in rehabilitation because he suffered a debilitating stroke. NOBODY believes Jamie is “playing pickle ball” (With a terribly crushed body, Jeremy Renner kept fans informed- Jamie would do the same if he could) In all our Hollywood reporting years, we have never seen a situation like this where managers and publicists are not speaking for or about, their ailing client. Has Corinne sworn them to silence? WHY? Keep in mind, this is just speculation, but all this subterfuge has those who love Jamie justifiably worried…

Health Scare Mick Jagger Rolling Stones

MICK JAGGER: TIME IS ON HIS SIDE

Okay, like a lot of people, when we heard that Mick Jagger is ailing and postponing his tour for at least three months for medical treatment, we were at jolted at the sudden idea of his mortality. Genetically, Mick, 75, is blessed- his lookalike father was a gym teacher and lived an active life until the age of 93. We were HOPING that Mick needed hip replacement surgery and chose not to talk about it because it’s a sign of ageing. Unfortunately, it turns out that Mick’s health “problem” was discovered by doctors when he was examined for his tour insurance. A painful hip develops gradually and it’s not a surprise. That’s not good news and we have our fingers crossed for Mick.

UPDATE: Luckily, Mick’s mystery affliction turned out to be a fixable heart problem- we bet he’ll be back in action sooner than expected!

SLIMMER ARETHA FRANKLIN STILL WON’T DISCUSS HER SURGERY

Aretha Franklin’s taped message on the Grammys revealed that she has lost a considerable amount of weight. She still refuses to discuss her hospitalization and surgery a few months ago, so speculation never stops. At first it was assumed she had lap-band surgery to lose weight, but the rumor that she had surgery for pancreatic cancer began to circulate. Either would cause weight loss. Aretha is strangely reluctant to reveal her health issue but she did say “Doctors believe my surgery will add 15 to 20 years to my life.” We hope so.

ARETHA WANTS HALLE BERRY TO STAR IN HER LIFE STORY, BUT WILL IT HAPPEN?

When Aretha Franklin speaks out she says some interesting things – we’re just not sure what to believe. She refused to reveal why she had those mysterious surgeries in December, and word leaked out from somewhere that she had pancreatic cancer. Recently Aretha announced that she certainly did NOT have pancreatic cancer but still refused to talk about her surgeries. This week she informed Wendy Williams that after a four year struggle, a movie is finally being made about her life and Halle Berry will star, with Denzel Washington playing her father, and Terrence Howard playing Smokey Robinson. It sounds like an all-star dream cast, but is it just a dream? We hope not.

ARETHA FRANKLIN’S MYSTERY SURGERY HAS FANS WORRIED SICK

Everybody’s worried about Aretha Franklin’s upcoming surgery because she won’t reveal what it’s all about. That gets imaginations working overtime. She’s cancelled all concerts and cleared her schedule until May. Concerned fans held a prayer vigil for her in Detroit. Hopefully, it’s not as serious as her fans fear, and Aretha is having lap-band surgery or something like it, that would improve her weight and health. We’d like to keep her around as long as possible.

JESSICA SIMPSON MAY HAVE SAVED A LIFE

Jessica Simpson is a hero. It seems Jessica is in the habit of taking walks with her godmother Beth in the Encino neighborhood where her mother Tina lives. During a recent walk Beth got out of breath for the first time. She thought it was nothing important, but Jessica INSISTED that she see a doctor as soon as possible. It turned out Beth had some serious arterial blockage that needed immediate attention. Jessica may have saved her godmother’s life.

Cindy Adams Health Scare New York Post Welcome Back

WELCOME BACK, CINDY ADAMS!

How nice to see Cindy Adams back at work at the New York Post! Our fellow gossip columnist (we appeared on Geraldo and other shows together) mysteriously disappeared last April and we couldn’t find out a thing about her. We were worried. Cindy avoids doctors and says she practically had to be DRAGGED to the hospital after feeling ill. Apparently her condition was a big secret because doctors didn’t KNOW what was wrong until they did exploratory surgery and found a burst appendix that poisoned her system. She was also seriously anemic and needed work on heart valves. Four and a half months later she is BACK and we’re happy to see her column again!

MICHAEL DOUGLAS IS KEEPING HIS KIDS IN THE LOOP WHILE FIGHTING CANCER

Michael Douglas is confident he will survive, but he didn’t whitewash his condition with his children – he’s been upfront since his throat cancer diagnosis. He didn’t want Dylan, 10, or Carys ,7, to hear frightening things at school or from strangers about daddy’s health. And he’s keeping the kids involved in his treatment – Michael brought them to the hospital to watch him get zapped with radiation. Now if he’s “tired,” they understand. He’s lost weight, but Michael remains upbeat – he says his tumor is responding well to treatment. He’ll have to plump up for his upcoming role as Liberace – due to film next year with Matt Damon as his lover.

Dancing With the Stars Health Scare Jennifer Grey

“DANCING WITH THE STARS SAVED MY LIFE” SAYS JENNIFER GREY

It’s complicated, but Jennifer Grey swears that her upcoming stint on “Dancing with the Stars” already saved her life! The “Dirty Dancing “ star says she has been invited to do the show many times but only last year did she really consider it. Her neck had bothered her since she had that awful car accident with Matthew Broderick years ago, so she visited Karina Smirnoff’s neurologist and was shocked by what he told her. Her spinal cord was compressed and if she fell or something she’d likely be paralyzed. He also pointed out a nodule she’d been “watching for years” and insisted she have it removed as well as having her compressed nerves dealt with. The nodule turned out to be cancerous, but she is now cancer free and her neck is ready to dance. THAT’S why Jennifer says the show saved her life! (Jennifer is front row, second from the left.)

Health Scare Leonard Cohen

LEONARD COHEN: HE’S STILL OUR MAN

We’re relieved to report that Leonard Cohen, 75, is out of the hospital and able to continue performing on tour. On Friday he fainted onstage in Valencia, Spain, and was hospitalized with stomach complaints. He was released a day later and his next concert is scheduled in Barcelona on Monday. We saw Leonard’s excellent show in Los Angeles and were amazed by his rigorous two and a half hour performance. He is active onstage almost the entire time. His energy was impressive, but the lengthy tour might be catching up with him. He’ll be back in the USA at Sunrise, Florida on October 17.
