Now that Renee Zellweger has a boyfriend, she’s bypassing the sneakers and looking at the sexier high heels at Barneys. This morning Bradley Cooper picked her up and rescued her from a minor car accident that damaged the door of her Prius. Sales people say Renee is a delight to wait on – she’s sweet and has good manners.

It has occurred to Suri Cruise at a very early age, that high heels can be really uncomfortable if you spend the day walking around, shopping. Suri’s NEW heels are even higher than her first pair, and after a few hours of checking out the stores in Boston with her mom, Suri asked for a ride. Regardless of comfort, she couldn’t take her eyes off her own sparkly shoes.

Hot on the heels of Richard Dawkins’ book defining evolution, designer Alexander McQueen became inspired by the notion of Darwin’s The Origin of the Species, and these shoes and fashions were the result. His collection featured feathers and amphibian scales and prehistoric greenery. (The models even have gills on their temples.) The pinnacle of the collection, however, are the 12 inch high booties that resemble animal hooves. We’d like to see an X-ray of the position of the model’s feet inside. Walking a catwalk can be dangerous.

We sense that Mickey Rourke is feeling miniscule in this photo taken at a London club called Alto. Mickey arrived with this leggy blonde named Kristina around 1:30 and left two hours later. When they were walking out she tried to link arms with him but he resisted, petulantly saying that he didn’t want to be photographed that way. He walked off ahead of her. It’s amazing what a pair of seven inch platform heels will do to a man.

This romance has got legs! The Sopranos’ Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Entourage’s Jerry Ferrara are closer than ever, and she doesn’t hesitate to wear her highest heels despite his modest stature. We were amused by this photo of Keith Urban making small talk with Lauren Bacall at the premier of his wife Nicole Kidman’s movie Australia - you never know who you’re going to run into at a premier. (Lauren played Nicole’s mother in the movie “Birth” ) Keith is looking especially good – perhaps because he’s taller than usual. Take a look at those high heels on HIM, not her.

You’ve got to give Victoria Beckham credit – she can navigate a mall with three active children in six inch stiletto heels. It’s not often you see a woman dressed like this in the modest Westside Pavilion shopping center. Her outfit is cocktail party cute but it is an attention getter. Victoria once claimed she “couldn’t concentrate in flat shoes” and it looks like she meant it.

Those actresses you see teetering on killer heels can’t WAIT to shuck them off between takes. Even when they only have a five minute break, the Crocs come out. Kate Walsh was filming a scene for “Private Practice” downtown in LA and she wore her Crocs until the last second. Say what you will about the homely plastic shoes, Crocs have pretty much replaced flip-flops and even Uggs as the choice of footwear on Hollywood sets between shots – for women AND men.

JONATHAN RHYS MEYERS ADDS FOUR INCHES WHERE HE NEEDS IT MOST

We’ve always been fascinated by men wearing elevator shoes so we were delighted to see this photo of Jonathan Rhys Meyers and his intricately built up boots. He’s currently filming The Tudors at a castle in Dublin. Jonathan plays the notorious Henry VIII and at 5′9″ he just isn’t imposing enough. These leather boots were constructed with lifts outside and inside. It looks like they add around four inches to Jonathan’s height. He’s accustomed to wearing heels – remember, Jonathan plays basketball in cowboy boots.
