CAN BRITNEY SPEARS BUILD A FASHION EMPIRE LIKE JESSICA SIMPSON?
Of all people, Britney Spears is in New York for Fashion week, introducing her new lingerie collection “Intimate by Britney Spears” – at the New York Public Library, no less. It’s odd because Britney has never been noted for her fashion sense – and she made more of a name for herself NOT wearing underwear than wearing it. It looks like she hopes to follow in Jessica Simpson’s very successful retail footsteps. Brit says her collection is “vintage inspired” but she has never shown an interest in vintage of any kind. A collection of Britney Spears sweats might have been more appropriate. It it’s affordable, her fans will probably buy it. The upside is that this business venture is keeping Britney too busy to dwell on her ruptured romance.
