WILL SMITH IS IN BED WITH SCIENTOLOGY

When “Crash” director Paul Haggis defected from Scientology recently it stimulated a well-deserved tornado of publicity, and the story went everywhere. But for some reason, when The Hollywood Reporter’s Roger Friedman wrote about Will Smith and Jada Pinkett’s contributions to Scientology last year, it didn’t get a lot of attention. Remember, Will Smith vehemently DENIED being a Scientologist, but he donated $80,000 to Scientology groups in 2008 according to tax filing. Jada Pinkett Smith, who donated $122,000, DOESN’T deny being a Scientologist, and is outraged by criticism of the cult. Jada said in a 2008 interview “You have people who are attacking and want to fight. And don’t know nothing. How you gonna not know nothing about Scientology and attack somebody? It’s dangerous and it’s ignorant. And as an American I’m not gonna be a part of that.”

Jada Pinkett-Smith looks pretty snappy here with her long hair and red heels and she has good reason to be on top of the world. She executive produced a movie she can be proud of: “The Secret Life of Bees.” It takes place in South Carolina in 1964 at the height of racial turmoil. It’s a surprisingly endearing story of a motherless child (Dakota Fanning) who finds a place in the home of a woman with a thriving honey farm (Queen Latifah.) It IS a girly movie, but thoroughly enjoyable. Congratulations to Jada for her good taste!

WILL SMITH INSISTS HE IS NOT A SCIENTOLOGIST

Will Smith must be getting worried that his connection to Scientology might be damaging his career or turning off his fans. On Monday the LA anti-Scientology group Anonymous was picketing the Scientology linked school (called the New Village Leadership Academy) that Will is opening. The school admits to using L Ron Hubbard’s “Study Tech” method for educating kids. Imagine the protesters surprise when Will showed up in person to chat with them! Will stated firmly “I am NOT a Scientologist.” Will went on to say that his son used the Scientology Study Tech method to learn to read and he became an avid reader, so Will likes the technique. The Anon people pointed out that using the study technique glorified Hubbard and Scientology. Will declared that his school had NO religious agenda and he would look into concerns brought up by protesters. Will admitted he didn’t know if the school was paying Scientology to use the teaching technique. The Anonymous group was favorably impressed with his earnest tone, but they remain vigilant. WE think that Tom Cruise’s buddy Jada Pinkett Smith is pulling the strings behind the scenes here, and that SHE is committed to Scientology more than Will.

Much of the amazing cast of the updated version of “The Women” showed up at the premier located, ironically, at Mann’s theater in Hollywood. From left are Jada Pinkett, Annette Bening, Debra Messing, Meg Ryan, Eva Mendes, and Debi Mazar. A superb collection of acting talent. There’s not a single man in this cast and we can hardly wait to see how they pull that off. Not even a cab driver or doorman?

DID WILL SMITH ADMIT THAT HE AND JADA PINKETT ARE SWINGERS?

For years, gossips in Hollywood have heard that Will Smith and Jada Pinkett had an open marriage and even indulged in swingers parties. No one really had proof or dared to write about it until now. What happened is Will Smith supposedly gave an interview to something called Reveal magazine and talked about his open marriage. The WOW report, among other sites, picked up this hot news and quoted Will as saying
“In our marriage vows, we didn’t say ‘forsaking all others,” Smith told the aptly named Reveal magazine. “Our perspective is, you don’t avoid what’s natural and you’re going to be attracted to people.” Smith added that he and Jada were careful not to get caught and hurt feelings. Sort of “What you don’t know won’t hurt you.” WOW pointed out that gender was not mentioned. Wink, wink.
We searched for the original article in Reveal Magazine and could find nothing. The only Reveal magazine we could locate was an online site that was closed until September. Did this interview really happen?

TOM CRUISE : WHAT DO THESE PEOPLE HAVE IN COMMON?

Pick the person in this photo who’s not only been swayed by Tom Cruise into becoming a full-fledged Scientologist, but has made Tom very, very happy. (BESIDES Katie Holmes, of course.) Hint: it’s the only person shorter than Tom. Right – it’s Jada Pinkett. The Scientologists are hell-bent on getting their paws on Will Smith because the I Am Legend star is so well-liked and such a huge international box-office draw. Tom got Jada into Scientology and she’s been working to recruit her husband with apparent success. It’s kind of scarey, but Will was said to be handing out “personality test” Scientology pamphlets on his last movie Hancock. Tom must be delighted. Before Will met Jada he was a Baptist.

HOLLYWOOD POWER COUPLES BEWARE: SCIENTOLOGY WANTS YOU!

Scientology LOVES Hollywood POWER COUPLES. These four couples may not realize it, but Scientologists are working overtime to lure them into the fold. Each of these famous and successful pairs would be a huge trophy for the organization and they’ve been under scrutiny for awhile. Slowly but surely Scientologists have been forming friendships with the twosomes. Leah Remini is pulling Jennifer and Marc toward Scientology. Tom Cruise has been working on his Collateral costar Jada Pinkett Smith while his bride Katie Holmes is expected to sign up the Beckhams. Jim Carrey and Jenny McCarthy are a wild card- but his temperament could make him vulnerable. High ranking Scientologists will be attending Tom Cruise’s over-the-top wedding in Italy and personally making sure these special people are very impressed with what Scientology does for Tom, and could do for THEM as well. There will be MAJOR recruiting going on. It’ll be interesting to see who, if anyone, fall for it.
