Jared Leto probably figured that if he covered up his mohawk haircut, nobody would recognize him leaving Bungalow 8 in New York. He stopped into a corner store to pick up some fruit juice and salt free popcorn before he went back to his hotel. That girl standing in the background went with him.

Jared Leto is allowing himself to look good again. He’s been putting in a lot of time with his band “30 Seconds to Mars” but he also made a movie since the last time we saw him. His film career has been on the back burner since 2007 when he gained 60 pounds to play Mark David Chapman, the murderer of John Lennon in “Chapter 27.” In his new fantasy movie “Mr Nobody,” he plays an average guy who wakes up one day and he’s 120 years old. One thing about Jared, he doesn’t seem interested in playing hot leading men.

Anyone wondering where Jared Leto can be found on a Saturday night need look no further than the nearest goth club. This week, according to our esteemed colleague Lina Lecaro at LA Weekly, he slouched into Bar Sinister at Boardners covered up in a hoodie. (No sign of his 30 Seconds to Mars bandmates.) Apparently he didn’t learn his lesson at the airport, and the hoodie once again made him stick out like a sore thumb because everyone else was extravagantly attired. They really accessorize at this place. Jared reportedly spent a lot of time circling around the scantily clad go-go girls. Meanwhile, Benji Madden enjoyed the attention of numerous young women in black in the club’s courtyard.

This is how blonde Jared Leto tried to look unobtrusive at the airport. A hood and sunglasses is not the way to travel under the radar. Security took one look at his unibomber style and pulled him aside for a thorough search. We would have done the same thing.

This unassuming fellow is Jared Leto on the beach in Miami and you’d never guess he was one of the hottest guys in Hollywood. People magazine named him one of the “50 Most Beautiful People” a few years back. He certainly knows how to play down his good looks. Jared’s movie “Mr Nobody” is due out this year.

Acting VERY single, Jared Leto went to a couple of fashion shows in New York – probably checking out the models and fashionistas. According to a fashion insider “The stars always act like big divas when they come to these shows- they don’t stand in line – they’re walked directly to their seats with plenty of parting of the seas, etc.” Not Jared. He insisted on waiting in line with everybody else. When asked about it, he said, “This is chaos from hell at it’s best – and that’s exactly what it SHOULD be. I actually enjoy it.” So did the girls he mingled with in line, we bet.

Droves of nubile females turned up at the Avalon Thursday night to see Jared Leto’s band 30 Seconds to Mars. They were gratified to observe that their idol has pared off the sixty pounds he gained to play Mark David Chapman in “Chapter 27.” The after-party was set for upstairs at the Spider club and his girl fans grew restless waiting for Leto to appear. (Apparently he was onstage judging some kind of contest involving fake blood.) Some gushed their love for Leto , others clutched 30 seconds to Mars panty briefs that they wanted Jared to autograph. Lindsay Lohan didn’t like being a face in THAT crowd so she marched down to Jared’s bus and – viola-neither made it back to the party. The panty girls were left bereft. Don’t expect a hot new Jared-Lindsay romance however� we hear Jared has a crush on Jessica Simpson.
