WILL “DUMB AND DUMBER” STILL BE FUNNY TWENTY YEARS LATER ?

Nobody thought it would really happen but The Farrelly Brothers actually succeeded in filming a follow-up to their runaway hit “Dumb and Dumber” TWENTY years later! The movie’s stars Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels had gone on to bigger and better things and are considerably older than their original characters, but the Farrellys pulled it off. The plot involves the dimwitted pair seeking a long lost child that one of them supposedly fathered to ask for a kidney. And sneak peeks of “Dumb and Dumber To” indicate that fans will not be disappointed. It’s FUNNY. At least those Farrelly fans think so.

Jim, 49, knows how to keep his young girlfriend happy – took her shopping at the Stella McCartney store in Soho and bought her an expensive gold form-fitting dress. Jim Carrey is irresistible to kids. He was having lunch with friends at celebrity hangout Bar Pitti in New York when a bunch of kids approached his table. Instead of waving them away, he kindly took time for autographs and photos. He has a movie coming out on June 17 called “Mr Popper’s Penguins” that the kids will love. It’s about a businessman who inherits six penguins and he transforms his apartment into a winter playground for them.

Jenny McCarthy’s appearance on Oprah talking about her breakup with Jim Carrey inspired a source to call and tell us the OTHER side of the story. This Playboy source revealed that Jenny, who seems so sweet, actually STALKED Jim Carrey some years ago when he started going to the Playboy mansion. When Jenny first met Jim, she kept her son a secret so she wouldn’t scare him off. Jenny was smart and Jim was very good to her. Oprah avoids anything related to Playboy, but she likes Jim and when he introduced her to Jenny and the talk show idea came up, Oprah was open minded. It seems to be common knowledge among Jenny’s Playboy friends that she walked away from her romance with Jim Carrey with five million dollars, a Beverly Hills house, and a talk show backed by Oprah. Not a bad haul.

WILL AMERICA EMBRACE JIM CARREY AND EWAN MCGREGOR IN LOVE IN “I LOVE YOU PHILLIP MORRIS?

It looks like American film distributors are still squeamish about gay sex scenes because “I Love You Phillip Morris” starring Ewan McGregor and Jim Carrey has been languishing on the shelf for a year after the film showed at Sundance and the Cannes Film Festival in 2009. The movie is based on a true story about a con man (Carrey) who keeps busting out of jail in creative ways to be with the love of his life (Ewan.) The movie was released in Europe and did reasonably well, but American distributors balked at the love scenes. The off-beat romance finally found a courageous distributor –Roadside Attractions– and it’s set to be released in December.

Jason, 35, also has an undereye mask product called “Eyedews” that Jenny’s been seen hawking on TV there. Judging by his photo, Jenny may have traded laughs for abs.

JIMA CARREY TURNS GAY IN "I LOVE YOU PHILLIP MORRIS"

We’re not huge Jim Carrey fans, but this picture peaked our interest in his new movie. In “I Love You Phillip Morris” Carrey plays a family man who’s also a con artist who gets three years in prison. He falls hopelessly in love with his cellmate (appropriately played by Ewan McGregor.) When Ewan’s character is set free, Carrey’s lovesick character busts out of prison three times to be with him. What’s fascinating is that it’s based on a true story. This looks like a Carrey movie we could sit through, provided he controls his sometimes hammy impulses.
