JULIE & JULIA WILL SATISFY YOUR HUNGER FOR AN ENTERTAINING MOVIE

Julia Child’s infatuation with mid-century Paris and the city’s cuisine makes for a delicious true story about her life there in the delightful “Julie & Julia.” Meryl Streep is thoroughly convincing as the towering and enthusiastic Julia and Stanley Tucci is endearing as her supportive husband. Their eventful life in France is serious competition for Amy Adams’ contrasting life in modern New York, but Amy is up for the challenge. All in all, the movie is a triumph for Nora Ephron – we thought mostly women would love this movie, but men seem to like it just as much. We walked out of the movie craving beef bourguignon. And Julia would be proud to hear that her cookbooks have hit the best seller list again.

This cute actress has been marketed as the next big thing, thanks to her role on a somewhat popular series, but she’ll have a hard time living up to the hype. What will do her in is not her acting – it’s her secret drug problem. She’s addicted to cocaine (it keeps her thin) and it’s ruining her reputation – she’s late for appointments, moody on the set, and looks worn out. Ironically, she’s often been compared looks-wise to a slightly older beautiful actress with the same problem.

    Whodunit?? Guess who.

  • It happened in 2000: One of Whitney Houston’s alltime favorite movies has always been the tearjerker “Love Story.” She’s hoping to update and remake the move starring herself and her husband Bobby Brown as the doomed couple originally played by Ali MacGraw and Ryan O’Neal. Whitney realizes audiences might have a hard time swallowing Bobby as the wealthy and refined young man so she plans to switch the roles and have the female character from the right side of the tracks. She’s already working on a script and hopes to start filming before the end of the year. (As we all know, it didn’t work out….)

So, what do you think of that?! DO TELL!
