The Situation and Karina Smirnoff hopped over to Koi to eat after their not-so-hot performance on “Dancing With The Stars” Monday night. The usually confident “Jersey Shore” star’s dance was awkward, but not totally humiliating. It could have been a lot worse. He only had five days of rehearsal compared to the other contestants’ weeks of preparation, and he seemed surprised that ballroom dancing is not easy. He’s already wearing a t-shirt that says “Team Sitchoff” – the nickname given to him and Karina.

Dancing with the Stars hunk Maksim Cherkovskiy reassured his fiancee Karina Smirnoff with a big kiss after their rehearsal together. He’s been spending most of his time rehearsing with his flirtatious partner Denise Richards, so he’d better give Karina some special attention. We’re sure she showed her big diamond engagement ring to Denise.

And so it begins. We warned Karina Smirnoff awhile back to keep a close eye on her fiancee Maxsim Chmerkovskiy since he was paired up to dance with Denise Richards on Dancing With The Stars. Denise is not known for having a highly developed conscience when it comes to dealing with other women’s men. First they were seen innocently having coffee, now they’ve been spotted chatting after rehearsal at the 3rd Street Dance Studio and kissing goodbye before departing.

Maybe it’s a good thing that Dancing With The Stars pro Maksim Chmerkouskiy got engaged to fellow dancer Karina Smirnoff last month. He’s partnered up with Denise Richards on the show this season. Keep in mind that if Denise wants to flirt with her dance partner, she has never let a commitment get in her way. Denise and Maksim were photographed having coffee in Beverly Hills.

It’s apparent that “Dancing With The Stars” pros Karina Smirnoff and Maxsim Chmerkovskiy are in the throes of a new romance. They’re both Ukrainian and look like a great match, but it IS odd that the show has been on for seven seasons and it took until NOW for them to hook up. Maxsim says they have actually known each other for fifteen years. So they’ve been friends for a long time and the relationship just turned romantic. At least they know what they’re getting into.
Mario Lopez has been touring the country promoting his new book “Mario Lopez’s Knockout Fitness” and we hear he is SORELY missed by his costarring dancers on Broadway in “A Chorus Line.” They can’t wait for his hiatus to end June 3 because – we hear that a number of the dancing girls have crushes on him – and a few of the guys too. Insiders believe that dimpled Mario, who plays Zach, has hooked up with several of the sexy dancers and it’s creating quite a lot of backstage competition and drama. Anyway, we figure that by now, Mario’s girlfriend Karina Smirnoff, back in LA, has decided her best strategy is to ignore all rumors.
