KATHY GRIFFIN USES SOCIAL MEDIA FOR SOMETHING GOOD

This domestically blissful photo of Kathy Griffin and her husband Randy was taken BEFORE last Thursday when she had the lung scan you see below. You might recall that Kathy was diagnosed with stage 1 lung cancer last year, and had a portion of her left lung removed. Last week she had a scan to monitor the condition, but couldn’t get hold of an oncologist to look at it and tell her if it the result was good or bad. (She says her surgeon ghosted her) Kathy posted her scan on Instagram – saying she hoped that one of her readers would show it to an oncologist for an opinion – healthy or not? She got plenty of comments and the results seem to be good – no evidence of disease!

KATHY GRIFFIN HAS NOTHING BAD TO SAY ABOUT THE KARDASHIANS

Kathy Griffin was quick to point out that Balenciaga and Kim Kardashian were not the first to use caution tape for the purpose of fashion. Griffin posted this vintage photo on Instagram captioned “Ahead of my time.” She did NOT have a negative word to say about Kim because she used to live next door to Kim and Kanye and Kim’s whole family was very nice to her – especially when she was blackballed for that photo of her with Donald Trump’s “head.” Kathy says most of her anti-Trump friends abandoned her at that time but the Kardashians were always good to her and she’s grateful.

KATHY GRIFFIN SURVIVED ANOTHER TRUMP DISASTER

Everyone was startled by Kathy Griffin’s sudden announcement that she was isolated in the hospital with “unbearably painful symptoms” and unable to get a coronavirus test. In an interview with the LA Times, she slammed the president’s coronavirus response and blamed him for lack of testing. Ever since this revelation, we’ve been wondering WHAT Kathy’s alarming symptoms WERE. Turns out she had an abdominal infection, which has been treated, and she is now at home. She’s not alone- her 19 years younger husband Randy Bick (he’s also her road manager) is taking good care of her.

KATHY GRIFFIN DID THE RIGHT THING

Kathy Griffin’s career nightmare should never have happened. Okay, so she had a small lapse in taste with that photo of a fake Trump severed head. Comics make mistakes too. It wasn’t terribly funny, but we’ve seen MUCH worse. Why did people overreact in such a gigantic way? Internet trolls made a big issue out of nothing – and self-righteous celebrities followed them like sheep. Other comics seemed afraid to stand up for her. Kathy should never have been blacklisted and she shouldn’t have lost so much work. It’s time we stopped being so easily offended and judgmental. Let’s save our outrage for people who deserve it – like R Kelly. Kathy’s no dummy – she made a film documenting her awful situation and yes, we are looking forward to seeing Kathy Griffin: A Hell of a Story.

What WAS The Hollywood Reporter thinking when they published this Kathy Griffin cover? We happen to support Kathy and her story inside is fascinating. But this cover photo is so dramatically over- airbrushed that we barely recognize her! (A young Annie Lennox?) It’s BEYOND flattering but – HELLO – this is a news magazine, NOT a fashion magazine! Kathy, 57, is probably delighted with her extremely youthful appearance, but it detracts from the honesty of her story – AND the honesty of the magazine.

KATHY GRIFFIN: NOT AS HARD UP AS YOU THINK

Kathy Griffin’s house in the Hollywood Hills has been on the market for awhile, and it finally sold for four and a half million dollars, according to the LA Times. Is she downsizing? Not yet. Kathy bought her current 13,400 sq ft Bel Air mansion last year (before the Trump photo debacle) for nearly 11 million dollars. Yes, this is the house where she has a restraining order against her volatile neighbor. Whether she can afford to KEEP the big house remains to be seen. She’s handling her “blackballing” by badmouthing Andy Cohen and TMZ’s Harvey Levin, yet she wants to remain a friend to the LGBT community. Actually, her gay fans are the core of her success as a comic, and we predict they WILL help her make a comeback. But whether her comeback is enough to support an 11 million dollar house remains to be seen.

DID KATHY GRIFFIN BURN TOO MANY BRIDGES? THE ANSWER IS NO!

It wasn’t long after Kathy Griffin RETRACTED her Trump apology and Andy Cohen “forgot“ who she was, than she packed her bags and took off on her “Laugh Your Head Off” world tour. Brilliant move! She’d lost all her jobs in the US – even her traditional New Year’s Eve special with unsupportive Anderson Cooper, whom she called a “spineless heiress.” (We happen to think everyone overreacted to her lame Trump head photo – she’s a comedian and they sometimes make mistakes. No big deal.) Now Kathy’s appearing at sold-out comedy clubs in Melbourne and THEY have nothing against her! Kathy loves to make fun of celebrities and now she can REALLY dish the dirt on all the ones who turned against her. She’s making lemonade out of lemons….

Apology Donald Trump Fired Kathy Griffin

DOES KATHY GRIFFIN REALLY DESERVE TO BE FIRED?

Okay, Kathy Griffin made a huge mistake – but this horrible Trump photo was no worse than people get away with on Facebook nearly every day. Comedians often push the envelope way too far and they are admonished- but they’re not punished to such an extent! Nothing bad happened when Kathy insulted Jesus – and she IS in the habit of dishing celebrities. CNN came out with a holier than thou attitude announcing that Kathy was fired from her New Year’s Eve show. Her other endorsement deals followed suit, seeming to ENJOY the publicity. Does the punishment really fit the “crime?” When Kathy apologized immediately, she was criticized for doing it for fear of losing money. Imagine what would happen if she stuck to her guns! Andrew Dice Clay must be laughing his head off.

KATHY GRIFFIN: NOT A GOOD FIT ON FASHION POLICE

What’s WRONG with those people at the E! channel? Even BEFORE the death of Joan Rivers, the show’s writers rebelled because they were paid far less and worked longer hours than other E! shows that paid union scale. Joan should have gone to bat for her writers and chose not to, so they went on strike. Some of the best writers quit. Apparently their replacements were not up to par and went for the cheap insulting laughs. This series COULD have been a perfect job for Kathy Griffin, but she says she doesn’t like nasty comments that belittle women and we commend her for that. She’s a feminist. What’s more we think that Zendaya/Giuliana Rancic incident was not racist and a simple “I’m sorry “ is enough.

KELLY OSBOURNE: NOBODY GETS RICH WORKING AT E!

It’s rumored that Kelly Osbourne resents the fact that Kathy Griffin is getting paid so much more than everyone else when she replaces Joan Rivers on Fashion Police. The E! channel is notoriously frugal with its performers and Kelly and the others on the show are probably getting close to union cable minimum. (without a union) E! executives feel that its an honor to be seen on the channel and therefore they don’t have to pay much. Only very special talent like Joel McHale or Joan – and now Kathy – get anywhere NEAR a passable salary. Most performers who make a salary fuss on E! are replaced rather quickly.
