WORST DRESSED: Hands down, Katy Perry takes the cake. She looks strangely stiff and contrived and artificial, yet overly opulent at the same time. Those SLEEVES! Is THIS how you celebrate “Punk: Chaos to Couture?” Only her parents would have approved of this frock.
MOST FESTIVE: Sarah Jessica Parker didn’t bore or disappoint us in this splashy gown and plaid shoes along with a Philip Treacy headpiece. She’s got the right spirit of the night.
BEST MAKEOVER: Anne Hathaway doesn’t want to be Most Hated Actress any more so she completely changed herself into a new person so she can start fresh. The short blonde hair gives her power. And the dress is a creative look for her too.
BEST DRESSED: Christina Ricci really lived up to he spirit of the event – she wore Vivienne Westwood, the designer who practically created punk singlehandedly along with Malcolm McLaren. Christina didn’t accessorize imaginatively, but her vintage dress is spectacular. In fact, we would KILL for it.

Katy Perry walked out of an LA medical building on a warm day covered in sweats from head to toe with a large hoodie and shades blocking her face. Before she realized that paparazzi were indeed waiting, she showed a glimpse of her blotchy face that had obviously been manipulated by her dermatologist. Don’t be embarrassed Katy, it’s not the end of the world – we all get pimples now and then.

OK, just one more look back at Halloween. We think Katy Perry’s costume is really inspired. Keep in mind, most celebrities rent the sexiest costumes they can find, with little thought to originality. Katy went to a party at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery with her pal, actress Shannon Woodward, and they dressed as MTV’s memorable animated characters from the high school parody Daria. Katy was perfectly turned out as Daria’s wannabe hipster best friend Jane Lane, and Shannon was an accurate Daria. The one dimensional clothes are especially creative.

Katy Perry once compared her husband Russell Brand to the serial killer Charles Manson, so we’re not the only ones who see a resemblance. The beard and hair and crazy eyes make us think Russell might be preparing to play Manson in a movie. Somehow the whole meditation and yoga thing fits in with Manson too. And Brand does have a way of mesmerizing young women. Manson was recently denied parole for the twelfth time.

Russell Brand is squirming just a little, as finishing touches are being put on a documentary that he appeared in with his estranged wife Katy Perry while they were married. In 2010 it seemed like an OK idea to agree to be in the documentary called “Part of Me” about Katy’s life. Their romance, marriage, and the disintegration of their life together is all on film. Brand would LOVE the footage of their marriage to be cut OUT, but it’s not going to happen. Now he can only hope that he doesn’t get “The Kardashian Kut.” That’s when his moments on camera are cleverly cut to make him look bad – like when Kim K doctored her reality show so that her ex Kris Humphries looked like the villain.

Katy Perry seemed a lot more together the second weekend of Coachella, according to our sources. During the first weekend a source told us she looked like she hadn’t slept and had worn the same raggedy clothing for several days. She was friendly, but seemed “out of it” and almost dozed off a few times – once while looking at free Lacoste clothing. Since she never seemed like a drug user before, observers were concerned. The second weekend she was all about her new boyfriend Robert Ackroyd, guitar player for the UK band Florence and the Machine. They were seen smooching at every opportunity. Another Brit for Katy! Apparently that European model is long forgotten.

We were surprised to hear that Katy Perry’s divorce is actually affecting her fragrance sales! According to a business source, Katy’s fragrances do particularly well in the “Christian markets” in the midwest and south where they frown on divorce. Sales have dropped around 25% in those areas, perhaps because she’s not as innocent as she used to be. Her original scent is called “Purr” and she promoted her new fragrance, “Meow,” recently at Nordstrom at The Grove with considerable fanfare.
