It looks like Keira Knightley won an award at the Hollywood Film Awards (yet ANOTHER award show!) but she certainly didn’t win any awards for her dress. It looks like a cross between a wedding cake and upholstery fabric. Could it be LESS flattering? And it even looks uncomfortable – the sleeves seem painfully tight around the shoulder and upper arm. Fortunately, it’s easy to focus on Keira’s pretty face.

Does ANYBODY want to see yet another CIA/terrorism movie? Is that the only subject men know how to write about? We have had ENOUGH, but saw THIS movie because of Chris Pine. It turns out Kenneth Branagh’s script was better than most, and Chris’s character was earnest and likeable – he wasn’t a know-it-all. But Keira Knightley, as the obligatory “girlfriend,” gets on our nerves. She’s not believable as an American girl. Is it her English teeth? Or superior attitude? Chris and Keira were a bad match. Branagh wrote himself a juicy role as a Hitler-like Russian madman – kinda fun- but it’s not going to help international relations… (Above, Chris and Keira look like two wax mannequins)

Keira Knightley, the British actress who starred in “A Dangerous Method,” created a controversy recently when she discussed her atheism. She facetiously remarked that she wished she were Catholic so she could ask for forgiveness of her sins and not have to live with guilt. ”If only I was a Catholic I could get away with anything – you’d ask for forgiveness and then you’d be forgiven.” At first glance her comments may sound rather dumb, but actually they are a sly dig at religious types and their easy morality.

Keira Knightley’s musician boyfriend James Righton (The Klaxons) looks really young but it turns out he’s 28, and a year older than Keira. They were photographed together in London celebrating the release of her movie “A Dangerous Method.” Keira has admitted it took a few shots of vodka before director David Cronenberg could persuade her to do the nude scenes in the film, but we think she really overacted with many histrionics in all her scenes, vodka notwithstanding.
Mediocre movies abound in the summer and we’re happy to say that fall is looking up already. We didn’t have particularly high expectations for Keira Knightley’s “The Duchess” but we were blown away by the combination of gorgeous visuals and a perfectly engrossing story. The costumes are fabulous – comparable to “Marie Antoinette” – and the glorious castles and verdant gardens are amazing. The plot is appropriately 18th century, but with a modern edge. Keira is perfectly cast as the glamorous Duchess, as is Ralph Fiennes as her dominating husband. See it, you’ll like it!

Keira Knightley looks adorable at the premier of her new movie The Duchess wearing a great looking perfectly fitted blue dress. One glance at this picture and we thought “Here is the perfect person to star in the Audrey Hepburn story, if it is ever made into a movie.” The lame TV movie from a few years ago about Audrey that starred Jennifer Love Hewitt, was simply NOT satisfying.
This is why Keira Knightley gets paid the big bucks. Not only can she act, but she she’s able to metamorphosize herself in a character from any historical era. This photo is from her WWII love story “The Edge of Love” now filming, and she’s stunning and believable in her 1940’s style.
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End is in the final days of post production, but they had a last minute expense. Keira Knightley’s complexion wasn’t up to snuff, so they called in special effects experts to smooth it out. Keira, 22, was said to have had a bad reaction to make-up, and she broke out with acne during filming. Despite the best lighting efforts, the bumps still showed so they were digitally removed in every close-up. Now she looks as beautiful as Johnny Depp.
