A friend of ours who deals in vintage furniture told us a story about Brad Pitt that is very character revealing. Our guy was sweating in the hot sun at the Rose Bowl Flea Market attempting to sell two high end Knoll lounge chairs. In the afternoon Brad walked up and gasped when he saw the chairs. “I really wanted a pair of chairs like these but I lost them at an auction – they went for $20,000! He said. How much are you asking for them? The guy replied “Fifteen hundred dollars.” Brad looked surprised “That’s ALL?” and added “Will you take twelve?” The seller was hot and it was late in the day, so he decided to accept the twelve hundred. Brad smiled and handed him a check and the guy almost fainted – the check was for twelve THOUSAND dollars! (We’ve always told you Brad was a good guy.)

AMY WINEHOUSE ANSWERS HER OWN DOOR

It’s nice to see an endearing photo of Amy Winehouse for a change. Although, almost everything she does seems highly photogenic to us. These two little boys just walked up and rang her doorbell and asked her to autograph their skateboard. She answered the door herself and sweetly obliged – we’re consistently amazed at how accessible she seems to be.

MOTHER AND SON
Filed Under: Diane Keaton > Kindness

Jon (Napolean Dynamite) Heder is in awe of Diane Keaton, who plays his mother in the currently filming “Mama’s Boy.” Heder plays a thirtysomething slacker who lives with his doting mother in the comedy. They’ve been filming on location in the triple digit heat in Santa Clarita, California. On one agonizingly hot day Diane hired a snow cone cart to service the overheated cast and crew all day. On their last day at that location Diane had cupcakes for everyone delivered from Sprinkles in Beverly Hills. “Diane really CARES about the cast and crew” a coworker remarked. Or as Napolean would say “Sweeeeeet!”
