King of Pop LaToya Jackson

THANKS TO MICHAEL, LATOYA JACKSON HAS ANOTHER JOB

LaToya Jackson has an interesting job traveling to European countries to introduce that new stage show from Spain about her brother Michael Jackson called Forever King of Pop. There’s been some friction in the Jackson family – LaToya’s half sister (from Joe’s affair with another woman) reported in May that LaToya had a stroke and was seriously ill – but she wasn’t. La Toya was actually in Cannes for the film festival. Some sibling rivalry there? LaToya is currently in Germany publicizing the show.

Somebody better break it to P Diddy that he’s got competition for the title “King of the World.” Seems Michael Jackson suffers the same delusions of grandeur and went so far as to commission an oil painting of himself in his royal finest. (Maybe that’s why he calls his son Prince.) This work of art (starting price $5000) is among the vast collection of Jackson stuff we told you about being auctioned by Julien’s Auctions in April. Also note the 1980’s Ms Pac Man and arcade fortune teller for sale.

Our accomplished colleague Cindy Adams of the NY Post, detailed MORE of the reasons why Michael Jackson failed to appear on the Grammys to promote the 25th Anniversary of Thriller. Not only did Jackson demand a one-of-a-kind, once in a lifetime AWARD, but he wanted to select the A-list celebrity to present it to him. Of course he demanded special security and accommodations that would make all the other participants on the show feel cheated. He wanted the entire evening to be about and structured around HIM. Best of all, he wanted to be referred to as the King of Pop no less than THIRTY times on the show! The Grammy people backed off.
