THE MOVIE “KITCHEN” HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH FOOD

Just seeing this photo of Tiffany Haddish, Melissa McCarthy, and Elizabeth Moss in their 1970’s attire filming Kitchen in New York, got us interested in seeing the movie. It’s a comedy/drama about three Hell’s Kitchen mob wives who take over their husbands’ rackets when the mobsters are sent to prison. AND the film was written and directed by a woman – Andrea Berloff. We always have higher expectations for movies made by women – the characters seem more relatable.

If Melissa McCarthy looks serious in this photo- it’s because she’s actually filming Kitchen – described as a crime drama set in 1970’s New York. Hence the feathered Farrah hair and bell bottoms. It’s the story of gangster wives who take over their husbands’ crime business when the guys go to jail. With Tiffany Haddish co-starring – how could it NOT be funny?

Comic Tiffany Haddish is filming “Kitchen” in Manhattan with Melissa McCarthy and the movie is described as a “crime drama.” So the casting is quite a surprise. Kitchen is about three mob wives in 1970’s Hell’s Kitchen who take over running their husbands rackets when the guys go to prison. It’s hard to imagine these women NOT being funny, but we shall see…
