CAN BRITNEY SPEARS BUILD A FASHION EMPIRE LIKE JESSICA SIMPSON?

Of all people, Britney Spears is in New York for Fashion week, introducing her new lingerie collection “Intimate by Britney Spears” – at the New York Public Library, no less. It’s odd because Britney has never been noted for her fashion sense – and she made more of a name for herself NOT wearing underwear than wearing it. It looks like she hopes to follow in Jessica Simpson’s very successful retail footsteps. Brit says her collection is “vintage inspired” but she has never shown an interest in vintage of any kind. A collection of Britney Spears sweats might have been more appropriate. It it’s affordable, her fans will probably buy it. The upside is that this business venture is keeping Britney too busy to dwell on her ruptured romance.

Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake split up last Spring, but for the past month they have been spotted keeping company again and looking touchy-feely. Maybe that’s why Jessica was seen (looking natural and beautiful) in Saks fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills stocking up on sexy designer lingerie. While she was browsing another shopper told Jessica she saw her perform in “Guys And Dolls” at the Hollywood Bowl two years ago and complimented her singing. Jessica was SO delighted she sat down and had a conversation with the woman. Currently she’s filming “Total Recall” with Colin Farrell.

The Kardashian Kollection hit 400 Sears stores just last week and already everything is marked down to 30% off. All this in spite of the fact that famed photographer Annie Liebowitz was hired by Sears to make sure Kourtney, Khloe, and Kim looked good in their photos wearing the clothes. Sears has come a long way since its catalog lingerie ads in the 1960’s.

It’s about time that reformed boozer Oscar De La Hoya fessed up that he LIED about those scandalous drag photos from 2008 being photoshopped. Did anyone believe him for a minute? Those pics and the sexy dancer Milana Dravnel who took them, must have been preying on his conscience. After Milana released the photos and described their wild antics, Oscar called HER a liar and denied everything. She sued him for slander and they settled behind closed doors. Rumor has it Oscar paid her 20 million to shut up and give him the fishnets, heels and wig used in the pix. If Oscar had come clean back then, he could have saved 20 million dollars! At least Milana is living happily ever after!

Women in small towns yearned for those foam rubber hips and bottoms, crotchless girdles, and inflatable bras. We remember shopping there for 50’s style bullet bras like Madonna wore.
