That rumor about Lionel Richie pairing up with the irrepressible Bai Ling seems to be on the money. They definitely rendezvoused at Whist restaurant at the Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica for a meal, at the very least. They arrived and left in separate cars, implying that they want to keep their blossoming relationship under cover. According to a witness, they sat very close together in a booth, laughed and whispered in quiet voices, and at one point Lionel massaged Bai’s back. So SOMETHING is cooking here.

Nicole Richie is getting restless. She’s not ready to settle into a quiet life in the suburbs with Joel Madden and their baby Harlow. She feels isolated living at Joel’s house in Glendale and she wants to be closer to her favorite places and friends. She and Joel talked about marriage but realized they have different agendas. He’s a workaholic and a homebody when he’s not working. Nicole has no intention of giving up her active social life just because she’s a mom. Lately she’s been staying at her father Lionel’s Beverly Hills mansion more than Joel’s house. AND she’s started going out with her girlfriends. She still sees Joel but he finds it hard to compete with her incredibly wealthy doting dad who pampers and pays her credit card bills.
