We told ya so! Nearly TWO months ago on October 9 we told you that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had dropped their plans to buy a home in Malibu, and had decided to look for a place in Los Angeles instead. Back then we explained that they’re spending more time in Hollywood and that security was on the top of their list. Well lo and behold, yesterday TMZ published the same story and claimed it was EXCLUSIVE! (see link below) Well they’re right, it was exclusive – to JANET CHARLTON’S HOLLYWOOD! BEYONCE HAS SUPER CONCERT PLANNED FOR LUCKY L.A.

Beyoncé is having a star studded birthday party and YOU are invited… IF you can afford the steep ticket price! Beyoncé is turning 42 on September 4 and she’s performing in LA that day on her Renaissance World Tour. Our source says lucky concertgoers can expect to see a fabulous bunch of surprise guests joining Queen Bey on stage as she celebrates her birthday. The final details are still being worked out, but potential performers include her husband Jay-Z, Madonna, Britney Spears, Chris Martin and even a Destiny’s Child mini reunion with Kelly Rowland! For the majority of us who won’t be there, the plan is to tape the concert and sell it to a streaming service….of course.

LENA DUNHAM IS IN AN L.A. KINDA MOOD

Writer/director Lena Dunham wished herself a happy 34th birthday on Instagram, featuring this uncharacteristic photo of herself coyly sunbathing by the pool. Girls creator Lena has been social isolating with her roommate in Los Angeles (we’re guessing Silver Lake.) The New York hipster split with her music producer boyfriend Jack Antonoff in 2017, and has an apartment in the village, but has been staying in LA. Seems like outspoken Lena is always apologizing for her “insensitive” comments, but she’s often right on the money. Not so sure about those tattoos though…

How ANYONE could imagine that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made a MISTAKE when they left the royal family and castles and moved to Los Angeles is a mystery. We happen to think that LA is the greatest city in the world for living. The climate is everything and the cultural, social, and just plain fun elements are abundant. We know how lucky we are to be here. Certainly staying at Tyler Perry’s mansion (above) is enjoyable for now, but the ex-royals are fervently hunting for something smaller and more manageable. We predict that – despite the paparazzi – they will be very happy here – and Archie will eventually be surfing with the best of them…

MEGHAN MARKLE IS PULLING ALL THE RIGHT STRINGS

Personally, we have always felt that Meghan Markle was too good for Prince Harry. She had a successful and fun life as an actress with all kinds of opportunities ahead of her. Harry seems like a decent but very average guy and his life as a royal was posh but stifling. So we were thrilled when Meghan talked Harry into leaving the royal family behind and establishing a life of their own in the USA. At least she can continue acting! Certainly that’s the biggest reason they moved to LA. (Maybe the climate was also appealing!) Paparazzi here will be WORSE than the UK, so we know THAT’S not the reason they left. Harry is actually a very lucky guy- Meghan rescued him from a dull future. And she rescued herself from being FORCED to wear silly hats…

DID NYC BREAK UP JENNIFER ANISTON’S MARRIAGE?

We were shocked to hear that Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux are separated after less than three years of marriage. Of course we want to know WHAT HAPPENED. We always knew Justin preferred NY to LA – he wears black all the time and prefers a more kinetic lifestyle. Jennifer is, of course, a real California girl – she loves the easy luxury of her magnificent LA home. Jennifer also has a swanky New York place that’s undergoing a LONG million dollar renovation. Her neighbors aren’t happy and one griped and spied until Theroux sued him and he sued Theroux back. No wonder Jen spent so little time there. Anyway, much of the split could be due to the California VS New York lifestyle. And NO, Jennifer is absolutely NOT interested in getting back together with Brad Pitt!

BACK IN TV HISTORY, LIBERACE ATTEMPTED TO OUTSMART BATMAN!

Here’s something to whet your appetite for the Liberace HBO movie “Behind the Candelabra” premiering this weekend. Our brainy friend Chris Nichols, who writes the Ask Chris column (among other things) for Los Angeles Magazine, sent us this hilarious campy 1966 episode of Batman in which Liberace plays twin piano playing villains, and one seems to be a LOT straighter than the other. You’ll also see a trio of gorgeous girl criminals who look very familiar (is the brunette Edy Williams?) Let us know if you figure out who they are…

Victoria Beckham is obviously enchanted with her three month old daughter Harper. She took Harper to the park where they watched the boys practice playing soccer. David Beckham has had a very lucrative offer to play soccer for the Paris team so he may have a long commute next year from Paris to LA. Victoria and the boys would stay in California while the boys are in school and visit during vacations. Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, 10, and Cruz, 6, have fallen in love with Los Angeles and want to stay in school here.

Lisa Marie Presley had no complaints about the harsh weather in the UK when she returned to Los Angeles with her family for a visit. Lisa Marie and her husband Michael Lockwood moved to the English countryside last year after Lisa decided she didn’t want to raise her two year old twins Harper and Finley, in Los Angeles. She looks healthy and nicely dressed so the move seems to agree with her. We’re guessing she’s living close to a Scientology center there.
