HOW TO FILL A RESTAURANT WITH CELEBRITIES DURING A PANDEMIC

Don’t know how we missed this tidbit of news from Chris Gardner at The Hollywood Reporter, but it happened a few weeks ago when New York City restaurants opened for dining at 35% capacity. The Peter Luger Steak House in Brooklyn thought of an amusing way to fill some of the empty seats while abiding by Covid safety rules. They borrowed wax figures of celebrities to help fill the restaurant. You could rub elbows with Jon Hamm standing at the bar, or sit at a table with Audrey Hepburn, thanks to Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. Also hanging around the place were a smiling Jimmy Fallon, Michael Strahan, and Al Roker. Not very talkative, but nice for photo ops along with your steak dinner!

ONE MORE ZOE SALDANA IS NOT A BAD THING

You know you’ve made it big when Madame Tussaud makes a wax figure of you and Zoe Saldana and her husband Marco Perago had fun with the situation in Hollywood. The next step is a star on the Walk of Fame. Zoe and Marco have three year old twins at home and a two month old baby, but she has a full work schedule. Her calendar is packed with action movies as well as three more Avatar films.

CRISTIANO RONALDO: MADAME TUSSAUDS’ WAX FIGURE OR REAL THING?

Wherever Madame Tussauds has a museum, “the world’s most expensive soccer player” Cristiano Ronaldo, 31, is prominently featured – and exceedingly popular – in the Sport section. The Portuguese footballer is a dandy when it comes to fashion and he’s famous for his ever-evolving sculpted haircuts. He’s also a perfectionist – Cristiano flew his own hairstylist to London to work on his wax replica there. By the way, this is NOT a wax version of Cristiano – it’s the real man.

LAVERNE COX: THIS “LIKENESS ” IS ALMOST AN INSULT!

Orange is the New Black star Laverne Cox is showing some impressive acting skills as she pretends to be happy with her new wax likeness at Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum in Hollywood. Last year Laverne became the first transgender wax figure in the Madame Tussaud’s in San Francisco, and her likeness was quite attractive. Granted, it IS an honor to be featured in the museum, but they chose a really unflattering look from her Rocky Horror Picture Show character for THIS version of Laverne. We think she should ask for a do-over.

MADAME TUSSAUD DROPPED THE BALL WITH NICKI MINAJ

Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum in Las Vegas usually gets it right with their celebrity likenesses, but if it weren’t for the rear end, we never would have guessed who this is supposed to be. It’s Nicki Minaj from her Anaconda video, but the artist should have spent more time on her face.

Where has Ricky Martin, 42, BEEN for the past few years? His six year old twins Matteo and Valentino, (via surrogate) are taking up a lot of his private time. (Can you imagine how handsome they’ll be when they grow up?) Ricky’s also been touring in Mexico, and recording in Spanish, besides writing children’s books and launching a website for parents. He was also a coach on The Voice in Australia and Mexico. Soon you’ll be able to see his wax likeness anytime you want at Madame Tussauds new museum in Orlando.

OLIVIA NEWTON JOHN: THIS WAS YOUR LIFE!

It must feel WEIRD to come face to face with a life size version of yourself in 1978, but Olivia Newton John, 65, made the best of it. To the delight of tourists, Olivia showed up at Madame Tussaud’s Hollywood Wax Museum in Las Vegas to welcome her own wax figure to the collection. The wax Olivia was dressed up in spandex and leather as Sandy – her much-loved character from Grease that inspired so many young girls.

BRADLEY COOPER: “IS THIS WHAT I REALLY LOOK LIKE?”

Madame Tussaud’s in Las Vegas unveiled a wax dummy of “Hangover” star Bradley Cooper and we can’t decide if it’s a compliment or an insult. The wax figure supposedly cost $300,000, and is wearing a Tom Ford suit, but it looks like they used a cut-rate wax sculptor compared to wax museum in Hollywood.Bradley’s unflattering dummy looks like he has false teeth and his wig is WAY too obvious. He good-naturedly posed next to the figure, but we know what he’s thinking…

GWEN STEFANI SEES HERSELF AS THE WORLD SEES HER, AND SHE LIKES IT!

Gwen Stefani was reportedly mesmerized by her new wax double at Madame Tussaud’s in Las Vegas. She seemed almost freaked out by the lifelike mannikin. At a cost of $300,000, the dummy required 250 measurements and multiple photos and it took six months to put it together. It was made slightly larger to allow for shrinkage in the desert climate. It must have been tough to decide what the wax figure would WEAR because the style has to look good for a long time. Gwen donated the outfit.

THERE’S MORE OF ROB PATTINSON TO GO AROUND

There’s a reason why “Twilight” legend Rob Pattinson looks so cool and calm as he’s being pawed by fans in London. It’s because THIS is the Madame Tussaud wax museum and Rob’s image has just been revealed to the public. Fans have been lining up to manhandle and be photographed with their wax movie idol (His film “Remember Me” is a big hit over there.) Museum staffers say his figure is already the “most kissed celebrity” on display. Every night they have to wipe off the lipstick.
