Hoping the increase the popularity of Kabbalah in Brazil, Madonna flew by helicopter to a fancy island where Rio’s rich and famous reside, to raise money for her planned children’s charity in Brazil. Her flying outfit seems to be inspired by the 1930’s. It’s rumored that she’s already raised ten million dollars for the charity. Later she and Jesus left Brazil on a commercial flight.

No WONDER rumors have been circulating that Madonna is nervous about meeting her boyfriend Jesus Luz’s parents. His mother Christiane, a hairdresser, is only 36 – she gave birth to Jesus when she was 13! That makes her fifteen years YOUNGER than Madonna. Not only that, but she looks like a female version of Jesus, only considerably more fierce. This will be a very interesting meeting of the minds.

Madonna is a tornado of ambition and she wants her boyfriend Jesus Luz to be the same way. (He’s always been entirely too fond of lying on the beach.) She’s been making connections for him to get modeling jobs – but that’s not enough. She also wants him moonlighting as a DJ. It’s rumored that she spent $30,000 on DJ equipment for him this summer and now she’s getting him booked at celebrity parties in New York. If SHE’S at the party, Jesus doesn’t play her music because he says she hears it enough at home.

MADONNA IS TRUSSED UP FOR KABBALAH

There are a few significant things to point out in this photograph of Madonna taking her family to a Kabbalah meeting in London. First of all, four year old Mercy has become a Kabbalah regular, proving you are never too young for this type of brainwashing. Secondly, Madonna appears to be wearing a high-rise girdle or waist cincher over her sweater. Interesting outfit. Third, Lourdes is now taller than her mother, who is wearing high heels.

MADONNA WANTS TO ACT AGAIN

Madonna has been very chummy lately with Penelope Cruz and we think she has a very good reason. Penelope is best friends with director Pedro Almodovar and he, in fact, made her a star. Madonna is harboring an intense desire to act again and she hopes that by cultivating a friendship with Pedro, he might decide to use her in one of his movies. Pedro loves strong and unusual woman and writes his best roles for them. Unfortunately, Madonna’s film history is not great and many people blame her for the downturn in Guy Ritchie’s career. Whether Pedro chooses to take a chance on Madonna remains to be seen.

Not everybody is thrilled about Kate Hudson’s romance with Alex Rodriguez. (Above they are pictured leaving The Spotted Pig separately after having dinner.) Some of Kate’s friends feel uncomfortable with the fact that Alex used to date Madonna. Friends that are closer to Madonna certainly don’t want to aggravate HER, so they are unobtrusively distancing themselves from Kate. Mutual friends like Guy Oseary, Demi Moore, and Justin Timberlake, are not socializing with Kate like they used to, simply to avoid rubbing Madonna the wrong way.

Lourdes Leon, who’s just about to turn 13, loves being in New York with her father Carlos and she seems to be getting along great with his blonde girlfriend. Lourdes will not have her mother Madonna’s gap tooth smile – she has braces on her teeth. She does, however, have her mother’s eclectic style.

WHAT REALLY HAPPENED THE NIGHT MADONNA AND MICHAEL JACKSON WENT OUT

Oops! When Madonna reminisced about her “date” with Michael Jackson on the MTV Video Awards, she seemed to forget a few details. Back in 1991, Madonna was hungry to promote her documentary, “Truth or Dare” and Michael Jackson was about to release his album “Dangerous.” Madonna called Michael and suggested they maximize their publicity by attending the Academy Awards together. They met for a “private” dinner at THE IVY a week before to plan the event. On Oscar night Michael wore a diamond brooch and two gloves and Madonna was in her Marilyn Monroe phase with platinum hair and white fur. They made a big deal out of holding hands and posing for photographers, but the after party at Spago told the real story. Once inside, Madonna got bored and ended up sitting on her ex Warren Beatty’s lap while Michael huddled up with Diana Ross. After the party Madonna dropped off Michael in a hurry and hooked up with John Enos. So much for Madonna and Michael’s friendship.

There’s a very good reason why Sarah Jessica Parker is dressed SO much like Madonna in the 80’s for this flashback sequence in “Sex & the City 2.” The reason is that Madonna used to buy her gear in the very hip, rather undergound store “Patricia Fields” in the village. This shop had all the garter belts, waist cinchers, rubber jewelry, ripped tights, fingerless gloves, and petticoats you could ever want. And that same Pat Fields has always done the fabulous wardrobe for “Sex and the City.”

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin frequently have to defend their marriage because they are so INfrequently seen together. They’re still reasonably happily married, but there’s a bump in the road: Gwyneth’s ongoing fascination with Kabbalah has become an issue. She and Madonna are still close friends and Madonna’s life revolves around Kabbalah, so she pulls Gwyneth into all sorts of activities. Chris just isn’t that interested in the cultish religion and it’s causing increased friction in the family.

We pity Carlos Leon’s girlfriends when Lourdes is around. Daughters are notoriously critical of their father’s female companions and we’re guessing Lourdes is outspoken like her mother Madonna. After a summer of observing celebrities in tiny bikinis, we confess we were a bit flabbergasted by Madonna’s modest choice of swimwear. THIS is what she wore for a swim in Portofino, Italy. Madonna has never hesitated to show her body – remember she hitchhiked NUDE in Miami for her “Sex” book. Now she’s pulled a fashion about-face and concealed herself from neck to knee is a loose black basketball style ensemble with her name on the front. She also had a black sun umbrella to match. Could this new modesty be kabbalah influenced?

Just when you start to think Jesus Luz is on his way OUT of Madonna’s inner circle, he pops up looking more entrenched than ever. There were rumors that Madonna was tiring of Jesus, and that she was setting him up with model agencies and jobs to keep him working and out of her hair. Apparently not. MADONNA RETAINS A SUBTLE SUBVERSIVE EDGE

We were curious about the t-shirt Madonna is wearing in this photo. It looks like a teddy bear with either a weapon or a guitar. We did some research and learned that it’s a hot new line of shirts featuring a cuddly teddy bear named Mime with a subversive edge and a penchant for automatic weapons and other aggressive things. (They’re designed by Steven Trussell who used to have that provocative LA shop called Naked.) Mime shirts are sold at Metropark stores everywhere.

She’s on tour with her mother Madonna in Milan, and Lourdes Cicccone Leon,12, is looking very stylish leaving the hotel in her punked out plaid pants and skeleton scarf. The Obama handbag is the perfect accessory. The whole family (including Jesus Luz) is hopping from one European city to another with matriarch Madonna as she performs in concert. Nice way to spend the summer.

So WHAT if Madonna doesn’t have perfect arms? She’s got a huge backyard in the middle of New York City, and that makes up for a LOT! We confess we’re really envious of her new townhouse, which happens to be a record 57 feet wide – where the average NY townhouse is only 18 feet wide. Madonna paid 32.5 million for the 26 room, 4 story, 12000 sq ft home with guest quarters. Most amazing is the 3000 sq feet of OUTSIDE garden area – perfect for kids and dogs. Madonna said she’s thinking of having chickens too, and neighbors are already horrified at the prospect of roosters waking them up.

MADONNA’S KIDS SOAK UP SOME CULTURE IN PARIS

While Madonna prepares to perform tonight in Paris, she sent her children Lourdes, Rocco, David, and Mercy and bodyguards and nannies out sightseeing in the city. Among other attractions, they visited the Notre Dame Cathedral and the artsy historic neighborhood, Montmartre. Lourdes is looking quite fashionable and grown up as she jokes with their bodyguard.

MADONNA BUILT HER OWN ENTRANCE TO KABBALAH

Madonna got tired of being photographed every time she attended Kabbalah services, so she built a private underground entrance from the garage next door. Photographers and fans used to gather to see her and her entourage walk from the garage to the front entrance of the Kabbalah Center for Friday and Saturday services. She reportedly paid to have an entrance built directly from the inside of the garage to the center. All we can see now is her black SUV driving in.
