The Wolfman has turned into a handsome actor! Benicio Del Toro is fond of walking around looking like a bum with unwashed straggly hair under a baseball cap, unshaven face, and rumpled clothes. He usually looks like he hasn’t slept for a week. But check out this metamorphosis – Benicio is all cleaned up and promoting his Wolfman movie in Dublin, Ireland. Despite his makeover, fans DID recognize him and assault him for autographs.

Above, pictured leaving Cinespace in Hollywood, Mayim Bialik doesn’t get out much these days because she’s busy raising her two sons Miles, 31/2, and Frederick, 9 months. The “Blossom” star, 33, got her PHD in neuroscience and is now happily married to Michael Stone. She still appears on TV occasionally and recently got a much-needed makeover on TLC’s “What Not To Wear.” Mayim confessed she did it because “I’m frugal and have no time to shop, but people on the street started making fun of me.”

Now THAT’S acting. Matt Damon is so convincing as a middle aged man in Hawaii in this scene from “The Informant” that we wouldn’t have recognized him. The haircut, the glasses, the mustache, the outfit, and the muffin-top add up to a monumental turn-off. We have to give him credit for putting his vanity aside – a lot of actors would NOT have done it.

Victoria Beckham is a big personality and a powerful influence on her friends. She and Kate Beckinsale have gotten very chummy, and Kate ’s other friends are worried that Posh might be a bad influence. They say “Kate is getting so skinny that her clothes are falling off of her.” Posh’s minimal eating habits might be rubbiing off on Kate, who is already thin, and once had a problem with anorexia. Victoria gave Kate some of her dVb jeans and is also urging Kate to bob her long hair and she’s considering the idea. (Didn’t Katie Holmes just go through all this?) Apparently, Victoria just can’t resist making over her friends.

Here’s something you don’t see in West Hollywood very often. It’s Bobby Trendy - of Anna Nicole Smith fame – without a dab of lipgloss and nary a rhinestone in sight! He looks like a total boy! Apparently he was running to the convenience store Famima (which is a great place, by the way) to pick up a few necessities and was surprised by a photographer. There’s something not quite convincing about this photo of Shia Labeouf on the set of his new movie “New York, I Love You.” Now, don’t take this the wrong way, but he reminds us of a female to male sex change. Maybe it’s the haircut and the facial hair in combination with the unflattering clothes, but he resembles an attractive girl who wants to look like a guy. Kind of like that “guy” on Oprah who became pregnant. Shia’s much hotter when he looks like himself.

Walker is reportedly “minimizing” Barack’s gray hair – which is odd because some people complain that he’s too young to be president.

Wow. We’ve never seen Bijou Phillips look this beautiful before. Bijou the “wild child” always looked like a little hippie girl who took too many drugs. Especially when she was dating Sean Lennon. Everything changed when she met the right guy: Danny Masterson. Friends credit Danny (That 70’s Show) with getting her to clean up and quit partying and concentrate on acting. She’s making one movie after another and her latest hit is Hostel: Part II. Danny bought a lavish house in Benedict Canyon so they can live together – hopefully happily ever after.

Having been fashion obsessed for decades, we were astonished when we saw a recent photo of French designer Thierry Mugler at The WOW Report. The once tall, slim ballet dancer-looking designer is now a GARGANTUAN muscleman. A friend of his told us that when he stopped doing collections some years back, he decided to “reinvent himself” and “change his whole persona.” Thierry, 59, spends five hours a day pumping iron and has packed on around 75 pounds of muscle – certainly with the help of supplements. Nowadays, he wears mostly custom tailored sweats and t shirts- when he has clothes on at all. Oh, and he now goes by the name Manfred. Despite these idiosyncrasies, we were relieved to hear that one thing hasn’t changed – Mugler, according to friends, is still a “sweet, charming, generous gentleman.”
