When you walk into Nate n’ Al’s deli in Beverly Hill you can’t help but notice a pile of Larry King’s books for sale at the counter. Larry is a regular for breakfast almost every day and yes, this is the place where he had a screaming match with his wife Shawn and she ran out and he chased her down the street yelling. (The marriage survived.) Judging by the publicity he gets the place, one would think Larry is beloved, but that’s not necessarily so. He has a booth he prefers and if it’s not available immediately, he gets very grouchy. One staffer whispered “He thinks he IS a king – he’s demanding and not pleasant.” And, oh yes, selling the books there was HIS idea.

Before the Lakers big win, P Diddy sat courtside at a game wearing a Yankee hat. The jumbotron camera was cruising around looking for front row celebrities to show on the big screen and it picked up his image. The crowd loudly BOOED. Whether the crowd was booing HIM or his HAT isn’t known, but Diddy was FURIOUS. At halftime he made a scene and chewed out the guy in charge of the jumbotron in full view of everyone. He yelled “HOW DARE you! Don’t EVER put me up on that screen without my PERMISSION! You have to set it up with MY people!” The jumbotron guy was NOT happy. The following Sunday, Diddy arrived at the game with his son and they were all decked out in Laker hats, colors, and logos. They sat courtside but never appeared on the jumbotron, like other famous faces did. At halftime Diddy approached the same jumbotron guy and whined “C’mon, man, why don’t you put me onscreen? I’m here with my son!” The guy looked at Diddy and said “No! After last time – NEVER again!” And he meant it.

Celebrities at Laker games line up to file into the exclusive chairman’s lounge during halftime and Rihanna was in the crowd with Mark Wahlberg. Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey McGuire among others. She had an over-zealous little PR woman or handler yelling at everyone to get out of the way for Rihanna. The bossy woman barreled through the polite line of celebs, pushing them aside and yelling to one and all “Don’t touch her! Don’t look at her! Leave her alone!” P.Diddy attempted to say hello to Rihanna but the woman scolded him, “Don’t talk to her – wait till we get inside!” Even Rihanna cringed.

Sean Stewart has apparently forgotten his manners altogether as he waits to cross the street to have lunch at La Scala in Beverly Hills. He’s chatting with a female friend and obliviously scratching his crotch at the same time. Even in his wildest days, his father Rod Stewart had good manners. Rehab wasn’t enough – Sean needs charm school too.

It’s never too soon to start teaching your little girl how to behave in public. Katie Holmes demonstrates to Suri how to sit like a lady no matter where the photographers are. Suri appears to be a fast learner. This skill might come in handy some day when Suri climbs out of a limo.

When you invite the exquisite Dita Von Teese to a party or event, you get more than your money’s worth. Every public appearance counts for her and Dita dresses lavishly and appropriately. It’s a huge compliment to the host. She makes any event seem more important just because she dresses up for it. No sloppy jeans or flip flops or baseball caps for her. And she’s always friendly and smiles and poses for the cameras. Dita is one of a kind.

Paris Hilton was hired to do a photo layout for German Vanity Fair last week and we got inside scoop on how the shoot went. It took place in a luxurious private home in LA. She was scheduled to be shot at 9 AM with a group of kids, but Paris showed up 45 minutes late and insisted on sleeping in her car for 45 more minutes before walking in, carrying her dog, wearing her bathrobe and slippers. She insisted on smoking pot ALL day and the homeowner had to request that she do it in the yard, NOT in the house. The bedroom that served as Paris’s dressing room was covered with blankets to protect the carpet and bed. “She was really in a daze and didn’t communicate with anyone – not even the photographer who had worked with her before.” When Paris left, the room she had used was a mess. The blankets were cast aside and there were blonde hair extensions all over the carpet, food spilled everywhere, rings on the tables, and her dog peed on the bed!
