You will recall she was married to despicable serial sex offender Harvey Weinstein from 2007 until he was accused of crimes against over 80 women in four countries in 2017. He was also famous for forcing his actresses to wear Marchesa dresses on red carpets. Marchesa was Georgina’s company (Harvey was an investor.) Through all this, Georgina maintains that she knew NOTHING about her husband’s revolting activities. Most people – especially women- find that IMPOSSIBLE to believe. Still recovering from her ex-husband Harvey Weinstein’s horrific sexual abuse scandal, (87 women accused him- he’s serving 23 years in prison) Georgina Chapman has been laying low and her fashion line Marchesa has been suffering. Chapman’s business partner quit in 2019 and the label, which was often seen on red carpets, (because Weinstein FORCED actresses to wear it) is now mostly sold to bridesmaids. Chapman claimed to know NOTHING about her husband’s crimes, but few people believe her. She wants to bring her Marchesa label back to life but hasn’t had any luck until she started dating Oscar winner Adrian Brody. HE gets invited to the best events so SHE can show off her latest designs. A match made in….heaven?

VOGUE’S ANNA WINTOUR PULLED A FAST ONE AT THE MET GALA

For some inexplicable reason Anna Wintour wants us to think she has taken pity on Harvey Weinstein’s estranged wife Georgina Chapman and her fashion company Marchesa. Whatever her motivation, Wintour managed to land Chapman’s first interview since the Weinstein scandal changed Hollywood. And that IS a scoop – EXCEPT it featured Chapman in an absurdly (“poor little me!”) sympathetic light with not ONE word of “How could you NOT have known what he was up to?” Not even “Exactly WHAT attracted you to this man you married?” In exchange for the self-serving interview, Wintour coaxed Scarlett Johansson into wearing a Marchesa gown to the Gala. The Hollywood Reporter asked “Can Marchesa survive the Harvey Weinstein scandal?” We think not. Harvey’s estranged wife Georgina Chapman hopes to keep her fashion brand alive, but we think she’s beating a dead horse. Although she still has friends in the design world, most people in Hollywood believe she knew exactly what kind of person she was marrying in exchange for him promoting her business in the film industry. They made a deal. Harvey forced actresses to wear his wife’s gowns and they haven’t forgotten. No one believes that Georgina was unaware of her husband’s abominable behavior. Who would be caught dead in a Marchesa dress now?

As the humiliating sexual harassment charges against Harvey Weinstein increased daily, Hollywood wondered why his wife Georgina Chapman was dead silent for so long. Was she actually considering “standing by her man” like Hillary Clinton – or was she plotting a clean departure? If she DID stick around, it would certainly destroy her Marchesa clothing business and financially ruin her partners. The fact that she married such a revolting and wealthy man casts accurate aspersions on her OWN character that will be difficult to live down. Really caught in the middle of a horrible scandal are the women – mostly actresses- who seemed to LIKE predator Harvey Weinstein because he helped their careers? (Whether they paid a high price for that help is not known) For instance, Anne Hathaway was Weinstein’s DARLING for a few years and Renee Zellweger and Cate Blanchett owe him bigtime for their careers. And what about Weinstein’s WIFE Georgina Chapman, co-designer of Marchesa? Harvey made SURE all the Miramax stars above, and many more, dressed in Marchesa with the help of his friend, stylist Rachel Zoe. He put Marchesa on the map. Will any of these women dare to speak out in any way?
