MARK MCGRATH: FROM SEXIEST ROCKER TO HELICOPTER DAD

Sugar Ray singer Mark McGrath was voted Sexiest Rocker by People in 1998, and he was famous for avoiding marriage. He and his now wife Carin dated on and off since 1993 – until he finally married her in 2012. Certainly the birth of their boy and girl twins Lydon and Hartley in 2010 influenced him to commit. Now the rocker has been described as a “helicopter dad” who is VERY involved with his kids in whatever they do. Mark and Hartley watched Lydon play basketball in the park on Saturday.

Sugar Ray singer Mark McGrath, 45, and his wife Carin are often seen at the Farmer’s market with their twins in their dual strollers. Why the former Extra host STILL has his cute 31/2 year old twins Lydon and Hartley on wheels instead of walking, is a mystery to us. We have this thing against lazy parents who find it easier to push their overage kids around (and inconvenience other shoppers) rather than encourage their children to walk. Nothing personal, just a pet peeve…

“CELEBRITY WIFE SWAP” WAS A BAD IDEA FOR COOLIO

Celebrity Wife Swap usually makes the participants look like slightly misguided but well-meaning and likeable people at the end. That’s not what happened on this Tuesday’s episode featuring Mark McGrath and “Gangster’s Paradise” rapper Coolio. McGrath proved himself to be an overzealous, indulgent, but caring father. Coolio was exposed as a totally self-absorbed, incommunicative, posturing jerk. He was selfish, lazy, and seemed to care only about appearing macho and cool – and to hell with everyone else. His live-in girlfriend had two jobs and three kids and did ALL the work around the house. He never lifted a finger – or cracked a smile. This is a man who has six kids with 4 women and probably pays no attention to any of them. (At least one is in jail.) By the end of this episode Coolio had lost his girlfriend and most of his fans…(To think we used to LIKE him!) (Above: Coolio, ex-girlfriend Mimi, and her 3 kids)

It looks like Mark McGrath (musician and former Extra host) has finally committed to his long-term relationship with Carin Kingsland, who is obviously expecting. They’ve been together for over fifteen years – with a few breaks. But they always reunited, and this time it looks like they MEAN it. We’re sure he’s happier than he looks in this photo.
