It’s a sad state of affairs when the Queen of Hip Hop, Mary J Blige, has to show up for her Walk of Fame ceremony in this godawful hair. (Congratulations anyway!) This photo will follow her for years to come. It’s time to find a new hair stylist! This is a BIG year for Blige – besides selling tons of music, her new perfume was so successful that she broke HSN records. And she FINALLY got an acting role that proves what a shockingly proficient actress she can be. Mudbound earned her a Golden Globe nomination with more to come. So it makes sense to invest in a suitable hairdresser!

Charity Greedy Gucci Mary J Blige scandal

MARY J BLIGE: CHARITABLE OR GREEDY?

Call us pessimistic, but we’re starting to think that most celebrity namesake charities are all about stashing money to avoid paying taxes while living high on the hog. The recent Mary J Blige scandal is a prime example. Dedicated to “women’s empowerment,” the charity promised four year scholarships to 24 aspiring female students but couldn’t manage to cover tuitions OR pay their own bills, despite raising hundreds of thousands of dollars. Are these charities just used to finance first class travel and lavish expenses for the celebrities and friends, plus generous salaries for relatives hired to run the “business?” What percentage of donations actually HELPED anyone? Certainly Blige enjoyed her “charitable image” and is embarrassed that she was caught. Why did Gucci donate both to Blige and Madonna’s highly questionable charities? Smells like a tax write-off for everyone involved.

MARY J BLIGE THOUGHT GETTING AN EDUCATION WAS A SNAP

Mary J Blige was a high school drop out, but recently a New York high school showed respect for her accomplishments by presenting her with an honorary high school diploma. Mary was flattered and immediately announced that she would be attending Howard University this fall in pursuit of a bachelors degree. Apparently she naively thinks that getting an education is simple and uncomplicated when you’re a celebrity! No cramming for tests or worry about grades is necessary. When the news was checked out with Howard University, school officials were embarrassed to admit that she had NOT been accepted as a student and in fact had not even applied for admission. Details! Details! Somehow we doubt that an “honorary high school diploma” would be enough to get into ANY college. Being a celebrity DOES open a lot of doors – does that include doors to a university?

If you’re aching to know what Anderson Cooper is listening to on his iPod currently, we’ve got the scoop. In the past he enjoyed working out in the gym to The Clash, Johnny Cash, and The Hives. But lately he’s been growing fonder and fonder of Mary J Blige, and can’t get enough of her music in the gym and on his way to and from work. He’s so enamored with Blige that he’ trying to talk his mother Gloria Vanderbilt into inviting Mary to sing at her next big party. We hear that Mary knows about her famous fan and she’s delighted.

MARY J BLIGE KEEPS HER DISTANCE

Mary J Blige claims to have made some major changes in her life but SOME things remain the same. She was one of the twenty or so celebrities to take part in the GM Ten Annual Fashion Show. The celebrities wore designer clothes and introduced the new and futuristic models of General Motors cars on the runway during a big charity event at Paramount. The stars were given donations to their favorite charities and free car leases for doing so. A big hair and makeup was set up backstage at Paramount before the show. Denise Richards, Matthew Perry, Shane West, Catherine Heigl, Chris Kattan, Rumer Willis, and Oscar noms Jackie Earl Haley, Adrianna Barraza, and Jennifer Hudson, etc. were all ther getting prettied up and socializing. At the last minute, there was a big fuss and Mary J Blige swept in completely hidden by her entourage, who demanded a “private room.” Her security guards rudely pushed people out of the way and confiscated an empty room. Then her minions were sent running to fetch special mirrors, lights, etc for Ms Blige. Guards surrounded Mary at all times and she never interacted with other celebs. Entertainers in the big makeup room wondered why she needed all that security to protect her from THEM.
