AFTER SHE LOST, SUSAN BOYLE CHECKED INTO A MENTAL CLINIC
Filed Under: Meltdown > Psych Ward > Susan Boyle

Poor Susan Boyle. According to British papers, the day after she lost on Britain’s Got Talent to the Diversity dance group, the overnight sensation had an “emotional breakdown” and landed in a mental hospital. She was reportedly “acting strange” at her hotel and police were called. The police notified paramedics and Susan, 48, was taken to a clinic suffering from “exhaustion.” Since she became an internet sensation she’s been bombarded with record deals and performance offers – what she really wants to do is go back to her old simple life in Scotland. It’s been suggested that it’s a GOOD thing she lost because the pressure would have escalated. She still stands to earn millions IF she can fulfill offers.

PAULA ABDUL'S TARGET MELTDOWN

We just heard a story about Paula Abdul that happened a couple of months ago but it’s still relevant. According to a witness. Paula was wearing a baseball cap and bouncing happily up and down the aisles at the Target store in Palm Springs. Suddenly she stopped dead, pulled out her cell phone, started shaking and crying, and dropped the phone. A concerned salesclerk watching her meltdown offered to help and took her to the manager’s office so she could sit down. Paula was sobbing and asked them to call her friend who was outside “in the car.” The friend came in and assured Paula “everything is going to be OK” and calmed her down. She had a glass of water and after fifteen minutes Paula started apologizing profusely for the “inconvenience ” and said she felt “foolish.” She waved goodbye and left the staffers wondering if she had an anxiety attack or WHAT.

BRITNEY SPEARS : COLD TURKEY AND JERRY'S DELI
Filed Under: Britney Spears > Meltdown > Psych Ward

Britney Spears is going cold turkey while she’s in the psych ward “under observation ” at Cedars Sinai, and withdrawal from Starbucks and Taco Bell is just about killing her. She’s come to the brutal realization that she can’t have whatever she wants while she’s locked up there. Patients can have no personal possessions and absolutely no food or drinks can be brought in. And of course there are no vending machines because they can’t have money. Patients have 3 choices for sustenance: They can eat regular hospital food (mystery meat and jello) or they can arrange to pay $175 a day for gourmet hospital food (a full menu,) or they can arrange to have the nurse order from nearby Jerry’s Deli. Jerry’s is the ONLY place allowed to deliver to the psych ward – they have a contract with the hospital. And plenty of cold turkey.

ELLEN DEGENERES: MISSING IN ACTION!
Filed Under: Ellen DeGeneres > Meltdown

Ellen Degeneres update: After a tearful and emotional week, Ellen did NOT show up to tape her show today! This is a rare occurrence! Guests, including Keith Urban, weren’t informed until the last minute. Insiders are saying there is more to this drama than the dog incident that made Ellen cry on camera. They suspect she is having some sort of personal crisis (mid-life?) that involves her home life, not her TV persona. That anxiety might explain her on -camera meltdown after the dog problem.

BRITNEY SPEARS WON'T LISTEN TO ANYONE
Filed Under: Britney Spears > Meltdown

We hate to say it but Britney Spears seems like she’s losing touch with reality. Why else would she go out looking like an off-duty Eastern European stripper? It’s not just booze or drugs or tacky fashion – we’re afraid she might have serious mental problems. She’s lost it and she won’t listen to anyone. When you’re rich and struggling with possible mental illness and IN DENIAL, what can anyone do? We feel guilty making fun of her because every day it’s more apparent that she’s hanging by a thread. It’s entirely possible that her next stop will be a mental hospital.
