#MeToo Jennifer Lawrence No Hard Feelings

JENNIFER LAWRENCE GETS RAUNCHY

The title of Jennifer Lawrence’s new movie, No Hard Feelings , sounds like a relationship film, but actually it’s described as a “raunchy comedy.” Jennifer (who produced and stars) plays a broke millennial who is hired by “concerned” parents to bring their introverted 19 year old son “out of his shell” before he goes off to college at Princeton. The kid is shy and not sociable, and Jennifer agrees to “date” him so she can get money to buy a car.   It’s a controversial plot with questionable morality, and if the sexes were reversed it would be extremely offensive .  All this, and Jennifer IS an avid supporter of the #MeToo movement…

#MeToo Carey Mulligan Harvey Weinstein

HARVEY WEINSTEIN IS GOING TO HATE THIS MOVIE

Carey Mulligan does, indeed, look like a nervous but determined reporter in this shot taken on a NY street. She’s playing New York Times reporter Megan Twohey, who along with Jodi Kantor, wrote the book She Said, detailing their pulitzer prize winning sexual harassment investigation into Harvey Weinstein that sparked the #MeToo movement – and got him a 23 year prison sentence. Megan and Jodi’s book came out around the same time as Ronan Farrow’s book and he got more publicity, but these women started it all. It’s lucky that the New York Times had the courage and the budget to finance this long and convoluted investigation- Weinstein did everything imaginable to stop it. Universal plans to release the film, co-produced by Brad Pitt’s Plan B Company, based on the book She Said in November, 2022. We wish someone would investigate what Weinstein’s ex-wife Georgina Chapman (owner of Marchesa fashions) KNEW or didn’t want to know. Did she feel her Marchesa brand (which Harvey promoted) was more important than her husband’s crimes?

#MeToo Bad Behavior Gerard Depardieu Rape

GERARD DEPARDIEAU CAN DO NO WRONG?

Can’t say we’re the least bit surprised that Green Card star Gerard Depardieu, 72, has been charged with rape, but we ARE surprised that France seems to finally be taking the case seriously. It’s been bouncing around the courts since 2018, and it is, at long last, being investigated. France has NOT embraced the #MeToo movement – in fact it has been described as “paradise for sexual predators.” Depardieu is beloved in his home country despite his entitled behavior, alcohol consumption, road rage, and drunk driving. We believe that any man who would pull out a bottle and pee into it in full view of fellow passengers on a plane (because he was told the restrooms were unavailable while plane was taking off) would probably be egotistical enough to sexually assault a 22 year old actress and think nothing of it.

WILL SOMEBODY PLEASE GIVE ROSE MCGOWAN A JOB?

The woman largely responsible for the #MeToo movement seems to be blackballed in Hollywood for speaking out. Yes, Rose McGowan IS highly opinionated and that might scare a lot of people, but women owe her bigtime for nailing Harvey Weinstein and potentially improving the lives of women in Hollywood now and in the future. Rose admits that she misses performing and feels her career was stolen by Weinstein. She predicted that when she named names, job offers would become scarce, and she was right. Rose (above on the beach in Mexico) still looks great – will someone please give her a decent acting job?

JEREMY PIVEN LOST HIS BEST FRIEND

Entourage star Jeremy Piven posted a heartbreaking photo of his beloved French Bulldog Bubba today, with the announcement that his dog “died in his arms and it’s hard to stop crying.” It’s impossible not to cry WITH him. Over the past year we’ve seen dozens of photos of Jeremy and Bubba getting coffee, having lunch together – they were inseparable. After Jeremy had all those sexual misconduct charges, lost his TV series, and called himself “collateral damage of the #MeToo movement, Bubba remained his loyal and constant companion. So sad…

#MeToo Denial Dogs Jeremy Piven Sexual Misconduct

THE STRANGE CASE OF JEREMY PIVEN

We absolutely LOVED Jeremy Piven’s series Mr Selfridge so we were disappointed when he was accused of sexual misconduct (some of it quite appalling) by several women. Piven jauntily called himself “collateral damage of #MeToo, and angrily denied everything. He even took – and passed- a lie detector test to clear himself. But when no less than 8 totally separate women came forward with misconduct claims that were eerily similar, his series, Wisdom of the Crowd, was cancelled. That absolute denial of ALL charges seemed to cook his goose. He’s still in denial, but doing okay – he’s been performing stand-up successfully and has no less that 5 films in postproduction.

#MeToo A Star Is Born Andrew Dice Clay Stand-up

ANDREW DICE CLAY: DON’T GIVE UP ACTING!

Andrew Dice Clay must cringe every day when he hears the news because there’s always another word or reference he’s got to leave OUT of his stand-up act. In fact, we wonder if he still HAS a standup act because his early act would be entirely unacceptable today. We saw him at the Hollywood Bowl around fifteen years ago and the Diceman character insulted women and gay people in dozens of different ways. The guys in the audience loved his horrifying and filthy act – they swilled beer and cheered every diss. It got so rowdy and obnoxious that we chose to leave. Since belittling women and gays has fallen out of favor, we suggest that Andrew stick to acting!

#MeToo Brad Pitt Confrontation Gwyneth Paltrow Harvey Weinstein Hero

IS BRAD PITT THE ONLY MALE HERO IN THE WEINSTEIN SCANDAL?

For some unknown reason, Brad Pitt is not getting the recognition he deserves for being one of the FEW people (and perhaps the ONLY MAN) who confronted Harvey Weinstein for his aggressive sexual behavior. This is a BIG DEAL and it clearly defines Brad’s character. Brad approached Weinstein in a public place and called him out for making a pass at Brad’s then-girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow and warned him NEVER to do it again. Of the hundreds of women harassed (and far worse) by Harvey Weinstein – is Brad the ONLY decent man who spoke up and courageously addressed Weinstein’s abysmal behavior? None of those other agents, managers, or boyfriends said A WORD? And remember, Brad spoke out BEFORE Harvey’s downfall loosened everyone’s lips! Sorry Angelina, but Brad Pitt is a real life hero!
