Michael B Jordan, 33, blew us away when we saw him in Fruitvale Station, and he just keeps getting better – in more ways than one. He was born in California, but he knows dressing up is as important as dressing down. And he has a tailor to make everything fit to a T. In other words, he’s a Dandy in the making – which is a huge compliment. We love this plaid coat he wore in New York while promoting Black Panther. He gained 15 pounds of muscle to play the movie’s extraordinary villain “that you care about.”

Michael B Jordan looks remarkably composed for an actor who’s been unjustly shut out of all the award shows. His movie “Fruitvale Station” has, for some reason, been totally ignored by Hollywood and HE should have been included in Best Actor nominations. Lack of promotion seemed to doom this excellent film. Jordan is in Miami where he’s been promoting his latest movie “That Awkward Moment” with his costars Zac Efron and Miles Teller.

Leonardo DiCaprio as Best Actor? Puhleeze! He seems to be playing the same person in every movie and never “disappears” into a role. SO over-rated.

Michael B Jordan should have been a Best Actor nominee for “Fruitvale Station.“ He’s NOTHING like the character he portrayed. And Fruitvale Station should have gotten a nomination too!

Saving Mr Banks (above) was one of the most entertaining and delicious movies of the year and it was all but shut OUT. A pleasure to watch. It left Tom Hanks’ other movie “Captain Phillips” in the dust.

“Blue Jasmine” was not nominated for Best Picture? Insane! Did anybody really think “Gravity” was more entertaining? Was Gravity more entertaining than “The Butler?” We think not.

“American Hustle’s” hairstylist Kathrine Gordon didn’t get a nomination for the best movie hair in memory? What’s WRONG with these people?

If you’ve had it up to here with summertime superheroes, explosions, and special effects, and you’re hungry for a movie that tells a STORY, then Fruitvale Station might be the movie for you. See it and you’ll discover a newly minted 26 year old writer/director named Ryan Coogler, who has enormous potential and shows it in this – his first movie. The story details the last 24 hours in the life of Oscar Grant, 22, who was killed by BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) police on New Year’s Eve in 2008. Actor Michael B Jordan is brilliant in the role of a sometimes sweet, sometimes violent guy. All the actors are stellar. The human story behind the tragedy is somewhat idealized and forgiving, but it seems VERY real, and the movie has won all sorts of film festival awards. (Opens July 12)
