PRINCESS STEPHANIE : NOT AS WILD AS SHE USED TO BE

Just ran into this photo of Grace Kelly’s daughter Princess Stephanie of Monaco at a car racing event there and we were startled because she looks NOTHING like the naughty girl she was back in the 80’s when she horrified her father Prince Rainier by moving to Hollywood. She started with a highly publicized fling with Rob Lowe that only lasted a few weeks until she moved on with club promoter Mario Oliver, who ran the hot downtown club Vertigo. She had a hit record in Europe before she went through her bodyguard phase (married one, had a child with another). My favorite phase was the circus phase- she had a romance with an elephant trainer and moved into his trailer with her kids for a different life. After that she married an acrobat in the same circus but it only lasted 10 months before she returned to the palace. So far none of her 3 kids has turned out to be as wild as she was.

CHARLOTTE CASIRAGHI ROMANCED “THE JERRY SEINFELD OF FRANCE”

Whenever we see Charlotte Casiraghi we are reminded of how Grace Kelly’s genes improved the first family of Monaco. Charlotte, 29, a competitive horse-jumper and Gucci model, is Grace’s granddaughter. And she has a sense of humor – until recently her partner (and the father of her two year old son Raphael) was Gad Elmaleh, He’s 44 and a stand-up comic and actor described as the “Jerry Seinfeld of France” because of his observational humor. It has been said they split because he was always on the road. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. (Above, Charlotte at a recent riding event in Paris)

Even Princess Caroline of Monaco can’t resist a SALE sign. After having lunch at Balthazar restaurant in New York with a female friend, she noticed the MoMA store sale across the street and ran over to pick up a few things. Caroline’s oldest son Andrea Casiraghi recently announced his engagement to his longtime girlfriend Colombian heiress Tatiana Santo Domingo. (Her grandfather is the second richest man in Colombia.) Caroline’s younger son Pierre is suing that New York nightclub where he and his friends were beaten up in a brawl. (Above, Andrea and Tatiana)

Charlotte Casiraghi (daughter of Princess Caroline of Monaco) and her friend Athina Onassis, 26, are buddies on the horse jumping circuit. Athina is the daughter of Christina Onassis and the only surviving descendant of Aristotle Onassis. (It’s nice that she turned out tall and slim because her mother was always tormented by her weight.) Athina married an older, but handsome Brazilian showjumper, and she is raising his two children in Brazil where she is dedicated to a “simple, healthy life,” but she takes the kids to school in a chauffeur driven Rolls Royce.

PRINCESS CHARLOTTE CASIRAGHI CAN’T GET HOME EITHER

If it’s any consolation to the multitudes of stranded passengers in Europe, royalty is no better off than you are. Princess Grace of Monaco’s granddaughter Princess Charlotte Casiraghi, 23, and her boyfriend Alex Dellal were stranded in Rome. Since no planes were flying due to the volcanic ash, the couple left the airport and joined the mob scene at the train station in Rome.

PRINCESS STEPHANIE HAS A HISTORY WITH MICHAEL JACKSON

Monaco National Day brings out the royals and we were pleased to see Princess Caroline, 52, and her sister Stephanie, 44, on a balcony watching festivities. Back in the 80’s, these wild and beautiful daughters of Grace Kelly were insanely popular and stalked by paparazzi. Together they had five marriages and seven children. (Stephanie refused to name the father of her youngest child.) At one point Stephanie moved to Los Angeles to become a pop star and she recorded a song “In The Closet” with Michael Jackson for his “Dangerous” album. She used the alias “Mystery Girl.” Both are now split from their husbands and the sisters seem closer than ever.
