Madonna is a tornado of ambition and she wants her boyfriend Jesus Luz to be the same way. (He’s always been entirely too fond of lying on the beach.) She’s been making connections for him to get modeling jobs – but that’s not enough. She also wants him moonlighting as a DJ. It’s rumored that she spent $30,000 on DJ equipment for him this summer and now she’s getting him booked at celebrity parties in New York. If SHE’S at the party, Jesus doesn’t play her music because he says she hears it enough at home.

We KNEW that Sony would drop their “two weeks only” release of Michael Jackson’s “This Is It,” but we didn’t think it would happen so FAST. The movie, which was released Tuesday to great reviews, was number one at the box office, earning 32.5 million, but Sony had been hoping for 40 million. Sony immediately extended the release for three more weeks so you still have plenty of time to catch the movie at your local cineplex. Apparently the film wipes out any negative memories viewers had of Michael’s “idiosyncrasies” and they walk out lamenting the loss of his talent. Have YOU seen it yet?

WILL SMITH IS IN BED WITH SCIENTOLOGY

When “Crash” director Paul Haggis defected from Scientology recently it stimulated a well-deserved tornado of publicity, and the story went everywhere. But for some reason, when The Hollywood Reporter’s Roger Friedman wrote about Will Smith and Jada Pinkett’s contributions to Scientology last year, it didn’t get a lot of attention. Remember, Will Smith vehemently DENIED being a Scientologist, but he donated $80,000 to Scientology groups in 2008 according to tax filing. Jada Pinkett Smith, who donated $122,000, DOESN’T deny being a Scientologist, and is outraged by criticism of the cult. Jada said in a 2008 interview “You have people who are attacking and want to fight. And don’t know nothing. How you gonna not know nothing about Scientology and attack somebody? It’s dangerous and it’s ignorant. And as an American I’m not gonna be a part of that.”

ANNE HECHE DOESN’T ALWAYS GET WHAT SHE WANTS

Maybe Anne Heche WASN”T exaggerating last year when she claimed she was nearly broke and couldn’t afford to pay $15000 a month to her exhusband Coley Laffoon for spousal and child support. Since then she had a baby named Atlas with her new boyfriend James Tupper and her series “Men in Trees” was cancelled. She started appearing on “Hung” but money problems still haunt her. Recently she tried to purchase a two million dollar house in Hancock Park (where she once lived with Ellen Degeneres) but her loan was not approved and it fell out of escrow. She didn’t come up with the necessary cash for a huge down payment, so she lost it.

RANDY AND EVI QUAID ARE THE NEW BONNIE & CLYDE

The recently arrested Randy (”Brokeback Mountain”) Quaid and his crazy wife Evi seem to be the new Bonnie & Clyde of Hollywood. Besides running up exorbitant bills at expensive hotels and skipping off without paying, they escaped in a Hertz rental car that was reported missing. Not long ago Evi hired a private detective because she believed that “the same people who killed David Carradine” were after her husband. The detective ended up getting a restraining order against the Quaids – she told radaronline.com that Evi kept her drug use and spending hidden from her husband and the shaken detective feared that Evi might kill Randy and/or herself. We predict rehab is dead ahead for these two.

JERMAINE JACKSON: “I AM THE NEXT MICHAEL JACKSON”

The Jackson family looked perfectly civil at Michael’s funeral but we hear that behind closed doors they’re furiously battling over money. Everybody wants to cash in and the brothers are at each other’s throats- with Jermaine’s ego turning into a huge problem. Shortly after Michael died, Steve Wynn offered the late Danny Gans’ empty Las Vegas showroom to the remaining Jackson brothers and wanted them to prepare a long running show. They could have taken in 80 million dollars just the first year if was a success. The brothers were psyched to do it but Jermaine decided HE should be paid WAY more than the others. Bickering ensued and Jermaine told shocked producers “ I am the next Michael Jackson and I will be paid accordingly!” Producers just laughed and gave up the whole idea. Timing IS important and last we heard the Jackson brothers were pitching their act to the small time lounges in Las Vegas.

We think it’s another carefully orchestrated drama and both sides are enjoying the resulting publicity and attention. It’s all about the MONEY! Paula wants 20 million and Idol producers are giving her a hard time, but both sides will give in and reach an agreement. (Can you really imagine the show without unpredictable Paula?) Meanwhile, they’re both thoroughly enjoying the uproar.

RYAN O’NEAL’S KIDS AGREE WITH EVERYTHING WE SAID ABOUT HIM

We were happy to see that Ryan O’Neal’s kids Tatum and Griffin validated all the claims we made about Ryan cashing in on Farrah’s death. We always though he was a reprehensible person and father, and his damaged children agree. Newly blonde Tatum has admitted her father did not recognize her at Farrah’s funeral and tried to “pick her up.” Griffin told Larry King that he felt his father Ryan simply “tried to make money off Farrah’s death .” Griffin said “He stuck around to make sure he was in Farrah’s will.” (He WASN”T, Redmond got it all.) Now Griffin suspects that Ryan is sticking close to incarcerated Redmond “because he got all the money.”

Paula Abdul SHOULD look happy – money just keeps piling up in her bank account. TWO Las Vegas casinos are in a bidding war to obtain a talent and variety show she’s pitching. Paula plans to produce a music and dance extravaganza similar to the Cirque du Soliel, but SHE will only appear occasionally onstage. According to the Enquirer, she’s been talking to The Venetian hotel and Steve Wynn’s Encore and both are offering tens of millions of dollars for her services. The rich get richer.

A vintage motorcycle once owned by Steve McQueen has just sold for $276,000. The bike was really old – a 1929 Scott Super Squirrel that was restored and painted by Kenny “Von Dutch” Howard before Steve got it in the 70’s. Steve had a collection of over a hundred classic motorcycles when he died in 1980.

MADONNA BUILT HER OWN ENTRANCE TO KABBALAH

Madonna got tired of being photographed every time she attended Kabbalah services, so she built a private underground entrance from the garage next door. Photographers and fans used to gather to see her and her entourage walk from the garage to the front entrance of the Kabbalah Center for Friday and Saturday services. She reportedly paid to have an entrance built directly from the inside of the garage to the center. All we can see now is her black SUV driving in.

Michael Jackson turned up at his LA studio to rehearse for his London concerts and he took time to pose with fans and show off his new curly hair. For those who’ve been wondering WHY promoters would invest so much money in Michael’s concerts when it seems so risky, considering his health and past flakiness, the LA Times has the answer. All the money that promoters put up for this series of shows is backed by the value of Neverland and related assets of Michael’s. In other words Michael has put up a LOT of collateral. Jackson stands to take in 50 million dollars for the London shows and promoters hope to extend it to a three year tour starting in Europe, then Asia, and finally the US. So far that’s only in the talking stages.

We’re thinking that Francesca Hilton won’t be thrilled when she reads this, but Zsa Zsa Gabor’s husband, the questionable Prince Frederick Von Anhalt drove his wife to the Bank of America in West Hollywood this week. Zsa Zsa sat in the car wearing a baseball cap and what appeared to be a bruised right cheek. The Prince went into the bank and came out with a stack of papers and a banker. He pointed, and Zsa Zsa signed the papers one at a time. The odd part was – she didn’t put on her reading glasses.

An astute reader has a contact at the O2 Arena in the UK where Michael Jackson has scheduled 50 concerts from July to September and January thru February. (That’s a staggering amount of performances for someone who’s often seen in a wheelchair.) The source says that everyone at the arena has been warned that no one backstage, crew or fans, can TOUCH Michael because he is delicate. The best part is that Michael will still be paid for his concerts even if he FAILS to complete his contract due to illness! What are the odds of him NOT becoming ill? He won’t allow an O2 doctor to examine him. The arena is starting to worry that they will be empty for many of these nights. How Michael gets away with all this is a miracle.

Maybe Courtney Love was right when she claimed Pamela Anderson is broke. Why else would Pam show up for the opening of the Sapphire Gentlemen’s Club and Prime 333 Steakhouse in New York, except for the money? AND vegeterian Pam’ll have to put up with PETA complaining about the eating of dead animals. This strip club is so fancy they offer “designer suites with private butlers.” Pam was supposed to open the club with Audrina Patridge but Audrina backed out and Shannen Doherty, of all people, subbed. At least Pam flashed some skin. (Shannen did NOT) Samantha Ronson was DJ and we’re sure they were disappointed that her exgirlfriend Lindsay wasn’t around to liven things up.

PROCOL HARUM: WHO WROTE THE SONG?

In 1967, “A Whiter Shade of Pale” was a gigantic hit for the British band Procol Harum and it became the anthem for the “summer of love.” They sold ten million records and it became one of the most popular songs of all time, with 800 cover versions made. The band fizzled out and was split up by 1977. The music licensing company PPL says “Pale” is the “most played song in public places over the last 75 years.” It brings in a lot of money and forty years after the fact, the in court bandmates are fighting over who wrote it. We don’t envy the judge who has to untangle this mess.
