RUSSIAN DOLL NATASHA LYONNE IS BACK, SCUFFLING WITH NY CABS

It seems like FOREVER since we watched that tantalizing Netflix series Russian Doll, but it was actually just February, 2019. You will recall, Natasha Lyonne played Nadia, a software engineer in New York who got stuck in a “time loop.” It’s a comedy/mystery in which Nadia relived the same day over and over- starting with a loft party at night – she ran into assorted New York characters, but died in various ways at the end of each night. The next day she woke up like nothing happened and repeated the experience, ending in death again. Every day she knew what was coming and tried to figure out WHAT was going on. Eventually she met a guy having the same experience and the plot thickened. We liked the series, but it ended two years ago, after 8 episodes and we forgot all about it. Nice to hear it’s started filming and coming BACK for season 2! In photo of Natasha above, Nadia is still scuffling with NY cabs and her hair is appropriately longer…

NATASHA LYONNE’S “ANTIBIRTH” SOUNDS LIKE A PUNK “ROSEMARY’S BABY”

This photo of pals Natasha Lyonne (Orange is the New Black) and Chloe Sevigny looking adorable at the premier was enough to get us interested in the movie they’re promoting: “Antibirth.” (Did you know that Chloe turned DOWN a role on “Orange” when it first started, and still “regrets it every day!”) Natasha is starring in AND producing this “punk horror film” that’s all about three flawed but strong women. They live in a shabby military town where drugs are rampant. One night the party girls overdo some hallucinatory drugs and Natasha wakes up pregnant in a very peculiar way. Meg Tilly (long time no see!) tries to help them out. What could be scarier than hallucinations and pregnancy? Sometimes low budget movies are the most fun…

It’s not easy being Natasha Lyonne. According to observers in Malibu the cute actress from American Pie 2 isn’t looking so cute anymore. Things have gone downhill since she threatened to sexually molest her neighbors dog., among other things. Whether she’s still being treated for substance abuse is unknown, but her behavior caused one shop clerk to remark “She must be off her meds.” She’s been wandering around Malibu looking “almost homeless” in beat-up jeans and flipflops. But she does have friends – she was spotted in the company of one of her Party Monster costars. Unfortunately, she’s been behaving unpleasantly in shops – loudly and rudely ordering salespople around, scowling “I’m in a HURRY!” Clerks make themselves scarce when they see her coming and one place actually kicked her out. Maybe charm school should be the next step for Natasha.
