NEV SCHULMAN LOOKS LIKE A NICE GUY

Catfish creator Nev Schulman had some nice publicity when he was in Colorado recently. A pregnant waitress at a Smashburger in the Denver airport reported to Denver 7 News that Nev was her customer recently, and he left her a $926 tip on a $61.29 tab! She explained that they struck up a conversation and she told Nev that times were tough for her, but her baby was due Sept 26- and that happened to be Nev’s birthday. When Schulman left, he wrote “Congrats on your baby girl!” on the check, along with the surprising tip. The server was flabbergasted.

THANKS MTV – FOR DOING THE RIGHT THING WITH NEV SCHULMAN

It’s gratifying to see how intelligently MTV handled the misconduct allegations against Catfish host Nev Schulman. They put Catfish production on hold and HIRED AN INDEPENDENT INVESTIGATOR to scrutinize the charges made by a woman who appeared on the show. She alleged that Schulman pressured her to have sex with him. Schulman denied the allegations and pointed out that coworkers present at that time would back him up. Investigators found the charges to be without merit, and Catfush resumed production. We’re happy to see that no one was instantly fired nor were shows abruptly canceled until charges were thoroughly examined. It’s a shame that some ex-girlfriends, wannabe girlfriends or just bad dates drop bombshell charges without merit against guys for some kind of revenge. The #MeToo movement is way too important for this kind of frivolity.

CATFISH HOST NEV SCHULMAN HAD A LAPSE IN COLLEGE

Nev Schulman (pronounced “Neev”) seems like the nicest guy in the world on his MTV show Catfish. He calmly deals with some highly problematic people on the series and he’s never judgmental or unkind. So it’s surprising that he has a negative incident in his past that’s not so nice – it happened while he was a Junior at Sarah Lawrence College. Nev was photographing people at an LGBTQ dance without permission. A female who objected got punched in the face by Nev and injured. Nev’s recollection of the event and bystanders’ stories were quite different. At the time a school official described Nev as “entitled and condescending” and he got kicked out. It was especially traumatic because his mother had graduated from the college. We’re guessing he learned a big lesson because he appears to be quite sensitive in dealing with his Catfish clients.
