So nice to see Nick Nolte NOT wandering around Malibu in pajamas with uncombed hair. Today he shopped at the Trancas market with his wife Clytie Lane and their 11 year old daughter Sophie – and his hair is combed and he’s dressed appropriately in linen. Nick, 77, also has a handsome 32 year old son Brawley from another relationship, who’s also an actor. And Nick keeps busy – he has a couple of movies coming out next year.

We have nothing against PLAID, but Nick Nolte is giving it a bad name. Pajama bottoms for shopping in Malibu? Nick actually resembles his notorious mug shot with that crazy hair and beard. (Keep in mind, at one time he was a HOT commodity and Barbra Streisand had a huge crush on him.) Amazingly, Nick can pull himself together when he gets an acting job – and in fact, he’s never out of work.

Nick Nolte HAS been known to go to night clubs in New York wearing pajamas, so this look shouldn’t be too surprising. Nick went to Rite-Aid wearing a long nightshirt over white pants and bedroom slippers. The low cut neckline of the shirt is held together with silver tape, implying that it MIGHT be a woman’s garment. Nick topped off the outfit with a fedora. And this man was once considered to be a MAJOR HUNK! It makes you wonder how he and Robert Redford got along while filming “A Walk in the Woods”…

It’s no secret that Nick Nolte prefers wearing his pajamas 24 hours a day. We’ve seen him walking around Malibu in his sleepwear and even spotted him in a New York nightclub in PJ’s. Above, he turned up at Grauman’s Chinese Theater for the premier of his movie “Gangster Squad” in an outfit closely resembling pajamas.
When Nick Nolte, 71, spotted paparazzi while he was shopping in Malibu with his daughter, Sophie, 4, he pulled out a water gun and playfully shot at them – much to the little girl’s amusement. Sophie’s mother is Nick’s longtime partner Clytie Lane. Nick’s next movie, Gangster Squad, with Ryan Gosling, is coming out in September. It’s about the LAPD trying to keep the east coast mafia out of LA in the 40’s and 50’s.

Nick Nolte was talkative and chatted with photographers as he walked into this medical building in Beverly Hills. On the way OUT, he didn’t say a word – only hand gestures – because he had a couple of teeth pulled. If he’s uncomfortable NOW, wait until the anesthetic wears off… With or without teeth, Nolte is never hurting for work – he has four movies coming out this year and at least three next year.
Nick Nolte, 69, may look like an eccentric grandpa, but he’s managed to attract three wives and multiple “domestic partners” through the years. His current partner is Clytie Lane and they have a two and a half year old daughter Sophie. The “Down and Out in Beverly Hills” star favors wearing pajamas as often as possible (We’ve seen him in New York nightclubs in his jammies) and this outfit he wore at LAX is about as close to PJ’s as one can get.

Nick Nolte dolled himself up and brought a bouquet of flowers for his exwife Rebecca’s birthday celebration at Nobu. Their son Brawley,22, was there too for his mom. Brawley is an aspiring actor and his father’s been getting him roles in his movies. Their next pairing will be in “My Horizon” along with Sean Brosnan, son of Pierce.

Gary Busey took a walk on the beach at Malibu Colony and several people mistook him for Nick Nolte. Gary didn’t seem to mind, we bet he’s heard it before, but we’re not sure if that’s a compliment or an insult.
