Lion star Nicole Kidman appeared at an award show in Germany looking like she should be at the Country Music Awards in the 1970’s. Her fussy frilly flower print pastel frock seems awfully unsophisticated for the Oscar winning actress. Nicole must learn to say no when designers pressure her to wear free dresses that she would never buy for herself.

Can you believe this ordinary looking attractive girl is Nicole Kidman? She’s wearing a brown wig and minimal makeup while filming “The Family Fang.” . Nicole doesn’t get enough offers to do quality comedies so she took matters into her own hands. She bought the rights to the highly praised – and very original- novel “The Family Fang,” and she’s producing the comedic drama and costarring with Jason Bateman, who will also direct. It’s about a brother and sister who are forced by financial problems to return to their family home and have to deal with their world famous artistic parents and reflect on their peculiar childhood.

Nicole Kidman brought her family along when she visited Hollywood to promote her new movie “The Railway Man.” She also attended her friend L’Wren Scott’s funeral. She’s walking through LAX with her husband Keith Urban and their two daughters – Nicole is carrying Faith, 3, and Sunday, 6, is by her side. On the Jimmy Kimmel show Nicole inadvertently referred to her Sunday as her “oldest daughter.” Actually Bella Cruise is her oldest daughter. Little Faith looks like her mom and Sunday looks like her daddy. (Nicole is unusually plain in the trailer for her movie above)

Suddenly Nicole Kidman is making vague references to her marriage to Tom Cruise in Du Jour magazine, and she’s getting all KINDS of attention – simply because she has always been mum on the subject. But if you take a close look at her carefully worded recollections, they NEVER mention Scientology nor do they reveal anything personal about Tom. She was a naïve 23 year old aspiring actress when she married the Hollywood star. (He likes them young and malleable) Nicole’s most revealing comment was “we lived in a bubble and became very dependant on each other.” Tom separates his wives from their friends and family and HIS few friends are Scientologists. When he was asked why he divorced Nicole, Tom only said “NICOLE KNOWS WHY.” We think he caught her cheating. But Nicole has never addressed WHY they split. She’s happier with her life now and says “Before I was running away from life – now I embrace it.” Sounds exactly like Katie. (We can just picture Tom and his Scientology buddies going over Nicole’s interview with a fine tooth comb)

Nicole Kidman has the appropriate look of serenity in Monte Carlo as she films the title role in “Grace of Monaco.” Movie star-turned princess Grace Kelly was one of the most incredible beauties of all time and her royal shoes are not easy to fill, but Nicole appears to be doing fine. Tim Roth was cast to play Prince Rainier III. Director Olivier Dahn was responsible for “La Vie en Rose” so we have high expectations for this.

The audience walking out of a recent screening of Lee Daniels’ “The Paperboy” didn’t know WHAT to think. Some were repelled by the white trash vulgarity of the oversexed sweaty characters and others were mesmerized. Some seemed EMBARRASSED to admit they liked it! In the movie, it’s 1969 in Florida and Matthew McConaughey plays a reporter with a lurid dark side and Zac Efron is his sex-obsessed younger brother. John Cusack plays the most revolting character of all – a deranged prisoner who might be innocent of murder. Nicole Kidman is the desperate floozy who wants to marry her prison pen pal. Mix all this up with thick southern accents (especially Macy Gray the narrator) swamp dwellers, and racial tension, and you have a poisonous stew. But the movie is funny at times, surprisingly compelling, and you cannot take your eyes away. Some might call it lowbrow, but it’s entertaining.

Nicole Kidman has revealed to Who magazine in Australia what we told you a month ago – that she and Katie Holmes are NOT in communication and she NEVER counseled Katie when she was in the process of leaving Tom.”I never spoke to her.” Nicole is no fool – and neither is Katie – they both live in fear of repercussions from Scientology and carefully avoid saying anything negative or doing anything to get the church riled up. These two women don’t have to speak- they shared an experience. Nicole still hopes someday to have a relationship with her children Bella and Connor.

“Precious” director Lee Daniels put Nicole Kidman through the wringer while filming “The Paperboy.” She not only had two explicit sex scenes, but a scene where she pees on Zac Efron after he’s bitten by a sting ray. And the whole movie takes place in the steamy Florida swamps in the early 70’s. Daniels says he shocked the actress when he insisted that Nicole would understand her character (the town hussy who has a pen-pal relationship with a convict) better if she did her OWN hair and makeup. To illustrate, he placed her in a room full of women who wrote to men in prison. AND he required that she “jiggle,” so she had to GAIN fifteen pounds! Nicole did as she was told until she got to the part in the script where her character had to use the N-word. She flatly refused. No WAY. Eventually, director Daniels relented.

Tom Cruise has colossal nerve calling the Vanity Fair article about him auditioning female companions “lies designed to sell magazines.” It’s common knowledge that Cruise saw young Nicole Kidman in her first film “Dead Calm” and called her in to audition for “Days of Thunder.” (She got the costarring part and Tom too.) And of course, he auditioned Penelope Cruz for “Vanilla Sky” and SHE got the part and dated Tom until she was scared off by Scientology. And Tom called Katie Holmes in to audition for “Mission Impossible 3” – she didn’t get the part (Michelle Monaghan did) but Katie got Tom! Does ANYONE believe Tom’s denial?
