The rumor is percolating that Joel Madden’s DCMA Collective store on Melrose has gone out of business. It seems to be true. The shop sold mostly black t shirts, hoodies, and skater gear. Bad timing, since the mother of his two kids, Nicole Richie, and Joel just finally got engaged. Time for Good Charlotte to go on the road again.

Nicole Richie has a new shopping companion. Her cute little girl Harlow is growing up fast – she turns two in January and already she’s wearing a tiny shoulderbag and silver shoes, and browsing in Barneys like a pro. All she needs is a cup of coffee.

Nicole Richie missed the launch of her own jewelry line at Bebe on Rodeo this week. She designed special affordable pieces from her “House of Harlow 1960” collection just for the store. She called in sick and the buzz at the party was that she has swine flu. Maybe that’s the buzz she INTENDED because everybody was worried about her and not annoyed by the no-show. Swine flu is a great excuse for missing anything.

We’re still confused by the Star Magazine cover story “NICOLE & JOEL MARRIED!” Star had Nicole Richie and Joel Madden married last June also, but it didn’t pan out. This time Star had many details about their private online wedding ceremony on October 14 conducted by, of all people, Reverend Moon. The magazine also wrote about Nicole’s father Lionel bragging about the wedding and the couple’s friends congratulating them. But Nicole and Joel have called the story ridiculous and insist they are NOT married. Star jumped the gun yet again.

What ever possessed Joel Madden and Nicole Richie to name their newborn SON “Sparrow.” This isn’t even funny. Their daughter Harlow at least has a name with some glamour and it’s sex appropriate. What boy wants to be called a Sparrow? A tiny fragile bird! Imagine the taunts in the schoolyard. The poor kid will probably grow up to be a tattooed bodybuilder to prove his manhood. It reminds us of the Johnny Cash song “A Boy Named Sue” –“if a man’s named Sue, he’s gotta be tough.”

Nicole Richie is getting restless. She’s not ready to settle into a quiet life in the suburbs with Joel Madden and their baby Harlow. She feels isolated living at Joel’s house in Glendale and she wants to be closer to her favorite places and friends. She and Joel talked about marriage but realized they have different agendas. He’s a workaholic and a homebody when he’s not working. Nicole has no intention of giving up her active social life just because she’s a mom. Lately she’s been staying at her father Lionel’s Beverly Hills mansion more than Joel’s house. AND she’s started going out with her girlfriends. She still sees Joel but he finds it hard to compete with her incredibly wealthy doting dad who pampers and pays her credit card bills.

Nicole Richie pretended to be friendly to Paris Hilton when they both turned up at the Hard Rock Hotel this weekend for the Good Charlotte concert. Dating twin brothers Joel and Benji Madden means they DO run into each other occasionally. (Much to Nicole’s annoyance.) The girls chatted briefly before the show and as soon as it started they ran to opposite ends of the VIP area to watch.

Now that Nicole Richie has recovered from giving birth, it seems she’s changed her mind about Joel Madden’s career. She used to get a kick out of touring with him but since she became a mom she doesn’t want him going on the road with his band Good Charlotte. She wants him at home with her and the baby. We heard a sensational rumor that we can’t PROVE, but it just might be true, so we’re going to tell you what we know and let YOU be the judge. According to a source, Nicole Ritchie is expecting TWINS! This source predicts that Nicole’s reps are planning to release the information when it will be most beneficial to her. If you think about it, no one at Nicole’s baby shower seemed to have any idea whether she was expecting a girl or boy so she hasn’t discussed it. Not only is it doubtful that the overworked non English speaking manicurists have any sort of training or license, but sanitation of equipment is highly suspect. And the heavy chemical smells from other clients’ nail procedures can be sickening. That’s what you get for $9.00. And don’t forget the lack of privacy – a perfect photo op!

While Nicky Hilton kept herself busy shopping in West Hollywood, Paris Hilton was actually working on her TV series “The Simple Life” with Nicole Richie. The were filming scenes in front of the gate to Paris’s house and the girls were shot over and over walking out of the gate until they got it right. Since Paris never WALKS out of her gate and always DRIVES, we wonder what the show will do with this snippet. They’re both camera-ready, although Nicole looks like she’s wearing a maternity dress.

Looks like Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie ARE starting to feel like Victoria Beckham bumped them off the paparazzi hot list. Demand for photos of Paris has leveled off – especially in the US- snappers say she’s overexposed and people are turned off. Posh Spice is expected to be the new hot girl In town and Paris and friends aren’t happy. (We predict Paris will eventually buddy up to Posh to share some of her spotlight – the way she did with Britney.) In an absurd attempt to drum up attention for themselves, Paris and Nicole walked into Mr Chow through the back door a few days ago. (Photographers are always camped in front of this popular Beverly Hills restaurant.) The two girls said hello to a few people and walked right through the restaurant without eating. They strolled out the front door into a blast of flashbulbs. They’ve gotta have that fix.

The Hollywood Girl Feuds are still flourishing. At the Chateau Marmont party hosted by Penelope Cruz, Mischa Barton and Rachel Zoe were having a good time – but with one eye on the door. They did NOT want to run into Nicole Richie so they had planned to make a quick escape if when and if she arrived. They also hoped to avoid Paris Hilton so they asked people to notify them if either turned up. They had their escape route carefully planned so they could leave quickly without any fuss. (The Olsen twins weren’t about to let their dislike of Paris Hilton ruin THEIR good time – they just pretend she doesn’t exist.) Rachel and Mischa wasted their energy – their arch enemies didn’t turn up.

Nicole Richie’s ex DJ AM (Who we think is one of the best DJ’s EVER) saw 90’s rap group A Tribe Called Quest at The Wiltern and it’v obvious that he has moved ON when it comes to Nicole Richie. He was upfront by the stage with two girls – one obviously his girlfriend. According to another audience member “She was a tiny very slim (but not emaciated) younger blondish version of Nicole. During the show he patted her backside affectionately and they whispered and giggled together. They acted really comfortable – like they’ve been a couple for awhile. “
