This is just depressing and there is no way around it… Leonardo DiCaprio turns 50 this November! It seems like yesterday that Leo was a boyish heartthrob starring in Titanic and adored by millions of young girls. But time flies fast and now he’s set to mark a half of a century on November 11. Leo’s leaning INTO the big day and planning a huge 50th birthday party which will be more star-studded than the Academy Awards. He’s inviting all of his former costars, his countless celebrity friends, some of his political buddies, and even some former girlfriends. He also hired a party planner to ensure that his 50th is a celebration that he and Hollywood will not soon forget.

TYLA: FASHION WITH A SENSE OF HUMOR

South African singer/songwriter Tyla turned up at Clive Davis’s pre-Grammy party in this highly unusual and fun outfit. She almost looks like a cave girl with big bones twisted into her skimpy loin cloth. She gets points for originality (everybody else seemed to wear see-through mesh) -hers must be a South African designer. Tyla, 22, wore a gown to the award show and she WON a Grammy for Best African Music Performance, so it’s likely we will be seeing lots more of this cutie.

KARDASHIAN PARTIES: NOT AS HOT AS THEY USED TO BE?

Is the influence of the Kardashians finally waning? Matriarch Kris Jenner’s annual Christmas Eve party is usually the hottest invite in town, but this year the only A-Listers who bothered to show up were mostly family members. According to a source who has attended the parties in the past, although lavish, the party has morphed into one large social media photo shoot with professional lighting, a glam squad of hairdressers and makeup artists, and over the top background decorations. As my source explained, it used to be fun, but now it’s kind of a chore – so that could be why the turnout wasn’t so great this year.

RIHANNA IS MORE DOWN TO EARTH THAN SHE LOOKS

Rihanna doesn’t mind going overboard when it comes to fashion, but she wants her kids to have normal lives. She’s hosting a no-frills Beverly Hills bash for her son, RZA’s first birthday on May 13. According to a friend, Rihanna waited until the last minute to call her guests and personally invite them to the casual get-together. Although it’s being held at a friend’s large home in Beverly Hills, practical Rihanna isn’t going overboard. She’s a very hands-on mom, so she and her personal chef are preparing a traditional Barbados meal of flying fish and cou-cou for her guests. They’re also baking the cake and decorating the place themselves with streamers and balloons. Although they could easily hire a party planner and spend a lot of money like the Kardashians do for those kids’ birthdays, Rihanna and ASAP Rocky are determined to give their kids a normal childhood, despite their fortune and fame.

OK- here’s a little Oscar mystery. Britney Spears’ personal trainer fiancee Sam Asghari turned up dressed in a tuxedo, at the Elton John AIDS viewing party ALONE. No Britney. What do you suppose happened? Certainly Britney was the one invited. Invitees donate a lot of money to enjoy this event. Tickets just to the after-party cost over $5000 apiece- and the dinner tickets (when Sam arrived) costs $9000 per person. Did Britney back out at the last minute? If so, why did Sam come alone?
