Fred Goldman is a real hero in our eyes because he never gives up. OJ Simpson wouldn’t be sitting in prison right now if it weren’t for Fred Goldman, the father of Ron Goldman, who was murdered by OJ along with Nicole Simpson. After winning a civil suit against OJ and 33 million dollars in restitution, Fred relentlessly pursued OJ for the money and OJ was in the act of concealing his income when he was arrested for armed robbery. Anyway, Fred has NOT stopped the much-deserved harassment – now he’s filed suit against OJ’s lawyer – he wants the suit OJ was wearing (above) when he was acquitted of murder. Let’s hope he wins the suit, auctions it off for a lot of money, and keeps up the fight!

What good can possibly come from locking up Michael Douglas’s son Cameron in jail for ten years to life? His track record isn’t nearly as bad as Farrah Fawcett’s son Redmond, but he’s confessed to drug dealing and that is the resulting sentence. He didn’t injure anybody and he didn’t get caught driving under the influence – he’s a danger mostly to himself. It’s a nonviolent, victimless crime. He’s messed up, but these harsh drug laws need to be revised. Personally, we take enormous satisfaction in seeing REAL criminals punished, but this is different. Prison is not always the answer. We feel awful for Michael Douglas, who showed up in court for Cameron.

You’d never have guessed back in 1958 when Phil Spector was in the group The Teddy Bears that sang “To Know Him is to Love Him” that he’d turn out to be a murderer. Spector, 70, is back in the news and Lana Clarkson’s friends are not happy about it. Spector was convicted of murdering Lana and is in the process of serving a 19 years to life sentence at Corcoran State Prison. Citing an Associated Press story, Lana’s friends are outraged because Spector seems to be getting special treatment in prison. His 29 year old wife Rachelle is allowed to visit him twice a week and he is permitted to receive his OWN food and not partake in the prison fare. Spector has a private room and he petitioned for email access. This week Spector is being transferred to another prison, oddly named Happy Valley State Prison in Northern California. Erik Menendez is there and whether Spector continues with his “special treatment” remains to be seen.

Rihanna and Chris Brown had quite a jolt yesterday when the judge who sentenced Chris to six months of hard labor cleaning up highways and five years probation, flatly REFUSED Rihanna’s request to cancel the stay-away order. This was a real shock because Chris must stay 100 yards away from Rihanna for five years or his probation will be REVOKED and he’ll go straight to jail. Rihanna hoped the judge would drop the order. This enhances the tragic “Romeo & Juliet” aspect of their shattered romance. Insiders feel the former lovers hoped to reunite when things quieted down. Now they don’t have a chance. Smart judge.
