WILL SMITH AND JADA REMAIN LOW ON POPULARITY POLL

Variety has just revealed what we already knew- that Will Smith’s career is “in a significant and precipitous decline.” What we didn’t expect is that Jada Pinkett Smith’s public image is also damaged. A company called Q Scores measures celebrity star power and appeal – they stated that Will was one of the top ten most positively rated actors BEFORE the Oscar slap (up there with Tom Hanks etc.) After the slap, Will handled the situation poorly: he made a vague and stiff apology via social media. His handlers realized that wasn’t enough, and pushed him to try and salvage his reputation with a sincere video. Smith’s self-righteous attitude in the video made it evident he was being forced to do it and couldn’t wait to get it over with, although he was saying the things his advisors told him to. He acted like he’s not sorry and never will be. The video was as oblivious to reality as his Oscar behavior. Through it all, Jada was silent and when she FINALLY made a comment, she acted like she was NOT involved and “hopes these two men can reconcile.” It didn’t help HER public image at all. Fans were left wondering if Will is NOT the decent guy they thought he was. The release of Will’s film Emancipation has been postponed until next year.

IVANKA TRUMP’S SHATTERED DREAMS

We were surprised to hear that Ivanka Trump considered going to Joe Biden’s inauguration even though her father wasn’t going. She felt it might make her look like a good sport and help her “future political ambitions.” Yes, she hoped to run for President someday! When her father was elected, Ivanka gave up her fashion business and became a Senior Advisor to the President- and she LOVED her new career. Last week’s drama made it unlikely that she would even be INVITED to the pared-down inauguration and she gave up that idea. Insiders say she remains optimistic that she will have a political career in spite of the toxicity of her family name. Others say Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner’s reputations are damaged beyond repair.

Amber Heard Johnny Depp Lawsuit Reputation

JOHNNY DEPP AND AMBER HEARD AIM TO DESTROY EACH OTHER

Amber Heard looks thrashed as she arrives back at her hotel after yet another grueling day in court in London. (her ex, Johnny Depp, is suing The Sun for calling him a wife-beater.) Every day she and Johnny reveal more embarrassing stories about each other such as “who pooped in the bed?” or “two black eyes or not?” Various employees and witnesses are called and forced to testify about what THEY saw or heard to back up or demolish the claims. They all look terrified that they will lose their jobs or destroy a friendship. It’s noteworthy that Amber diligently photographed and recorded so much of Johnny’s drug-addled or drunken behavior. She was READY for this occasion, (Makes you WONDER about her motives.) Whether he wins or not, Johnny and Amber will walk out of court with damaged reputations – is it worth it?

Johnny Depp Minamata Reputation

GERMAN FANS NEVER GAVE UP ON JOHNNY DEPP

German fans absolutely mobbed Johnny Depp when he premiered his new film Minamata at the Berlin Film Festival. Looks like Johnny is doing a decent job of resurrecting his career. Instead of playing a debauched self-indulgent character (like Hunter S Thompson in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas,) Depp’s Life Magazine photographer in this film is a real-life hero. Depp is producer, and his character exposed the horrible impact of industrial pollution in a Japanese town in 1971. He did the world a favor by documenting exactly what toxic mercury poisoning did to a small and helpless fishing community in Life, thereby stimulating the examination of corporate greed.

TYLER, THE CREATOR LOOKS DECEIVINGLY INNOCENT

We aren’t that familiar with Tyler The Creator’s work, but when we saw this photo of him performing in Brixton, it aroused our curiosity. It so happens he was born in Ladera Heights, California, and has quite a reputation. Theresa May banned him from the UK for a few years because she didn’t like some of his “terrorist” lyrics. Tyler has also been called out for his misogynistic lyrics (he seems to hate women) and rape and murder fantasies. You’d never guess it from the way he looks onstage here.

Singer/songwriter Taylor Swift had a massive quantity of balloons delivered to her house today – and for a damn good reason. She has more to celebrate than anyone we know: tonight the Netflix film of her insanely successful Reputation tour premiers – it was the BIGGEST SELLING US TOUR IN HISTORY – keep in mind, this is a female artist in an all-stadium tour with two female opening acts (Camila Cabello and Charli XCX!) As you may know, Reputation was the BEST SELLING ALBUM of the year! Hence the balloons…Let’s hear it for the waspy white girls!

ANGELINA JOLIE JUST WANTS TO BE APPRECIATED

Angelina Jolie is NOT happy that her reputation is suffering due to her prolonged and unpleasant divorce from Brad Pitt. She knows that her custody battle with Brad is making her look less sympathetic, and she feels compelled to stir up GOOD publicity for herself. When she’s not being photographed having fun with her children, she is busy promoting herself as a humanitarian. She made an appearance at a London film festival aiming to use the power of film to prevent sexual violence during conflict (in third world countries.) Makes us wonder: do these savage warriors go to the movies?

KANYE WEST IS TRYING TO CLEAN UP KIM KARDASHIAN’S IMAGE

Kim Kardashian’s incredibly self indulgent and lavish wedding left a bad taste in everyone’s mouth except her mother Kris, who managed to turn it into a money making proposition. 72 days later the marriage was OVER and we still don’t really know WHERE all those expensive gifts ended up! Kanye West has noticed that Kim is not well liked in certain circles. This week Kim and Kanye announced that instead of baby gifts, friends should send a donation to the Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. Whose idea do you suppose THAT was? Certainly not Kim or her momager Kris. Of course, it was Kanye’s idea – he’s from Chicago and is involved with a number of charities there. We guess he’s tired of people badmouthing his baby mama.

Kanye West has a job on his hands trying to clean up his girlfriend Kim Kardashian’s diminishing popularity in Hollywood since her unpleasant divorce. She’s no longer welcome everywhere – certain desirable doors are closed to her. We told you that the exclusive Soho House in Hollywood banned Kim from becoming a member and discourages members from inviting her as a guest. Vogue editor Anna Wintour famously banned Kim from the Met Gala, and even Kanye couldn’t weasel his girlfriend in – he had to go alone. Hollywood friends have been turned OFF by Kim’s egotistical divorce and she’s become an embarrassing joke. Former pals are distancing themselves from her. Kim is no longer on the top invitation lists, and Kanye is doing his best to help her out.

HEIDI MONTAG IS RUINING DECEASED DR FRANK RYAN’S REPUTATION AND COULDN’T CARE LESS

Heidi Montag is doing her best to destroy the reputation of the plastic surgeon who gave her a make-over and he can’t protest because he’s dead. Dr Frank Ryan died in August in an auto accident at the age of 50. Montag apparently regrets the ten procedures she talked the surgeon into giving her, and she’s showing everyone the scars and bumps. Certainly Heidi had some sort of arrangement with Ryan in which she would get him lots of publicity in exchange for a good deal on the surgery. In fact, he might have done the work for free. At first, she LOVED her new look and couldn’t stop talking about it. Now that Ryan is gone, Heidi is getting herself MORE publicity by complaining about the results and Frank Ryan’s friends are furious. Currently, Heidi is considering having her implants made smaller, and we wonder what doctor would be foolish enough to take her on.
